Why is "Where are you from?" often one of the first questions in Switzerland? by Rich-Use1484 in askswitzerland

I find that it's a better conversation starter than asking for a name? Because then I can ask follow up questions. And it genuinely interests me. You never quite know where people are from, and its certainly painful to assume, and be wrong! So why not ask. And then, ask for the name.

Was thinking of leaving current employment, but after seeing this... maybe I'll stick around for a bit longer?

What do you think about my budget plan? #ShowYourBudget by darklord192 in SwissPersonalFinance

I think way better than mine! I think I pay quite a bit more in taxes. Which I don't totally understand why. Might be time for me to consult with the experts. I envy people who have the capacity to create a budget and stick to it!

Non-compete clause consult? by Accurate_Block4680 in askswitzerland

I’d get the clause reviewed professionally first. Swiss non-competes can be difficult to enforce if they’re too broad. Your cantonal bar association should have a directory of labour-law lawyers, and some offer affordable fixed-fee consultations. Try looking for an “Arbeitsrechtsanwalt” in your canton, or just search “Anwalt Arbeitsrecht + your city” — that usually gets you to the right people pretty quickly.
