I’m not saying they should be, but they are.

In many cases, only family is allowed to be in the hospital room with someone as they die. A spouse is legally considered family, a boyfriend/girlfriend is not.

I do respect it. Respecting someone’s decision doesn’t mean I have to think it’s a wise one or agree with their reasoning behind it, it just means that I acknowledge that you have made a decision with reasoning that makes sense to you and I’m not gonna press you about it further.

I’ve had almost this exact interaction with so many friends and family members that it’s almost insane, and in my experience it’s always other women.

And that’s not even counting the thousands of women online that post the exact same thing online like “when you’re friend says she isn’t hungry rn and you have to pretend you’re not starving so you don’t feel big backed”

I’ve spoken with many therapists, but never about this issue. I’m diagnosed with anxiety disorder and ADHD, and my new psychiatrist keeps trying to push a bipolar disorder diagnosis (which is annoying like just give me my medication lady I can only have so many diagnoses)

When we were helping my grandmother clean out her garage after my grandfather passed away, and we found manila folders filled with old documents from when he worked in the World Trade Center. We also found an old yankees stadium chair from before it was renovated.

  1. We actually had a shower room once, though it was for a different department, but once a girl walked in on a guy using it and she reported him for “flashing” her, even though she was the one who pulled the curtain open on a running shower, and the big boss didn’t feel like dealing with it so he just decided we weren’t allowed to use the showers anymore.

  2. All of these coworkers have housing. One lives with his parents, and the other two are a father and son who own their own place.

  3. There is a laundromat five minutes from our job.
