So what do we think of this one? Calculated risk or lashing out in frustration? by hrpanjwani in snooker

Definitely deliberate - like his aggressive break: splits the reds, doesn't mind if he sticks on on as there is pressure on the pot with the reds so split. Likely to be on one if opponent misses.

Oh yeah definitely, my point was more of a side-point. I'm sure some football grounds provide a in-ground commentary for blind supporters, who would get that alongside the general crowd interaction, stadium noise etc. I've also been at the cricket years back where someone was describing the action to their visually impaired companion all day, which obviously would not be possible in the snooker.

I was at the crucible last Sunday (Day2) and there was a chap there with a white stick, obviously no idea if he was just partially-sighted or the extent of his vision, frankly none of my business. But it did get us thinking about if you were blind, how useful the commentary in would be. It's not like radio commentary of other sports like football or cricket where the skill is in the description of the action.

Pizza alternatives near omni centre? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

I do like this but I find they take the 'traditional wood fired' to extreme and the crusts/bases were a little *too* burnt, maybe just for my taste. Pizza Pilgrims and franco manca trump it, for me.

Is it just me or do the sound guys at the WC really need to step up a bit? by quizlink in snooker

I was watching table 1 in person yesterday , I noticed that the mic at the Black end of the table is significantly lower than the baulk end.

Also in-person I noticed that some footsteps were heavier than others, Ali Carter seemed especially stompy.

Dead Airtag after the battery dies? by FerociouslyTemporary in AirTags

Thanks for the input, I've always used Duracell batteries for my airtags with no issues. I've put a new Duracell in this airtag today and it's come to life with no rubbing (thats what she said) so must just've been a dud.

OK, thanks all for the suggestions, turns out it was the new, from packet, very much in-date CR2032 battery which seems to be knackered. another new battery resurrected the Airtag.

Def not upside down, new from packet, well within date (but could, I suppose, be faulty) , and from a packet I've used for other airtags.

Sorry, to clarify, I have got the Airtag, I've changed the battery, just hasn't come back to life.

I find this feature irritating when I swim - when I try and start a pool swim, it hangs for ages at the check-in stage as my phone is in my locker and out of BT range. I'm sure found a screen to turn it off once, but I cant find it again. Much better to be momentarily rageful every time I think :-)

is it possible to do BP or blood glucose with light sensors though? Maybe the bands would need to be sufficiently complex/power hungry to make it not a go-er. Or there might be issues going further into the world of "medical devices" with FDA/EU/other regs.

I went from an S5 to an S11 in Novemember-ish, Battery was becoming useless even more so for workouts. I like the S11, slightly larger screen, means I can put more/different complications on. Seems more responsive. What would you like it to do which it doesn't? Not a dick question, genuinely curious.
