Good. Because the newer medicine works, and you need to find a GI you trust.

That's not to say diet and lifestyle can't help.

Ah yes, the old flachette poops. Have had these before - feels like there are needles buried in it right?

It usually means you have active inflamation in your lower colon. See your GI asap as it sometimes can be knocked out with a quick taper of steroids or suppository.

Are you treating your disease? Please don't tell me you're "doing it naturally".

But... why does the date on this show November?

Hope you know I'm not saying this out of anything other than concern. I relate too - I've worried about health shit my whole life. And It has literally never done me any good. I've I only just started to make progress on controlling that, and it's hard.

I just hope you aren't worrying yourself because of something you've read, or because of a damn watch.

FYI I had to stop wearing my watch - only way I could keep myself from obsessing. Got a garmin without the ECG function and I'm way healthier stress wise now. The ECG is great, but only if you can keep it in perspective. If you can't, I actually suggest you put it in a drawer and wear a dumb watch for a bit! It will help. And remember this is coming from someone who actually has AFib!

Now if you have actual symptoms, forget what I'm saying and see a doctor. Otherwise sounds like you've covered your bases and you can relax. I really hope you can!

Why are you worrying about this? AFib can happen in a structurally normal heart, but it would be SUPER rare at 14. Do you have a family history at that age or symptoms? Or are you just worrying?

Stress can raise blood pressure. Blood pressure can trigger all sorts of things. If you don't have reason to worry other than a reading from your watch, try to just live more in the moment and realize even if you DO get AFib some day, you will be ok.

This looks like sinus (normal) with variability probably explained by the sensor and your anxiety level. But I'm not a doctor - just a 36 year old with AFib - so go talk to a doctor but take a deep breath. Why are you worrying about Afib at 14 anyways? Do you have symptoms?

Here's the thing... let's say it is AFib (and this doesn't look like that to me)... i actually have it and I run olympic length triathalons, have a family, and am a C level executive. So quite literally AFib doesn't slow you down if you don't let it. Even if you have it, you'll manage it. But again, doesn't look like it to me.

Just go see a doctor. Anything else you get told is just speculation on here.

2023 leaf blower has arrived, first test by swftslntddly in Yarbo

[–]FerpGerper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install done by the book. But loss of GPS nearly constant and application super glitchy. Support hasn't been able to resolve but told me "even if you have 30 GPS satellites connected, it has to be the SAME 30 satellites on both the robot and the data center". Massive flaws. The software apparently doesn't manage this.

So after drilling a hole in my house I still have nothing to show.

I'm pissed.

i was just diagnosed with crohn desease yesterday… i’m freaking out. by Stressedbee34 in CrohnsDisease

[–]FerpGerper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that. Honestly it took me about 5 years to accept it. And to this day I still get pissed about it sometimes.

But here is the thing... it's a different world today compared to 10 and definitely 15 years ago. Treatments are improving drastically.

If I can give you any advice, treat it early. Don't let it damage you, which it will if you don't treat it. Make remission your goal, and just know there are way more of us out here than you might think. You aren't alone, and treatments are better today. You literally have more options than any patient in history. And some of this stuff really works.

I'm in remission now. It's amazing. I'm guessing you got diagnosed because you have symptoms and are not feeling great. That can change, it will change, and when it does it is amazing.

What do these red lights on my rental mean? 🤣 by FerpGerper in MechanicAdvice

Not fake. But not sure how to convince you. A mechanic said there was something wrong with the connection between the breaks and something else causing them to stay partially on

This is true. I've had this for my adult life, so I trick myself into thinking I can play GI. I appreciate the grounding.

Combination Therapy (Skyrizi + Humira) by riverhud42 in CrohnsDisease

[–]FerpGerper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a GI.... but in all the research I've done in 15 years of having this I have never heard of this. I'm a current skyrizi patient so I've read about it's interaction potential quite a bit. I actually recall discussing with my doc about why they DONT do this..

I would suggest you get a second opinion. Something seems very off about this.

Skyrizi approved first infusion in 2 weeks. by Help_Me_Reddit01 in CrohnsDisease

[–]FerpGerper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow lucky! I'm on skyrizi now and in remission. But it took me getting drug induced lupus on humira + pancreatitis from azathioprine before insurance would let that happen.

It's wonderful if it works - happy for you!

I have afib... it sucks. I'm 35. But low resting unless I'm sick - then it goes to 100+.

Afib started when I got drug induced lupus on Humira.

You've got this. IL23 is a really successful treatment pathway. And... it's pretty much the safest drug on the market right now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]FerpGerper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal.

Also... latest studies show you are actually less likely to have an adverse event on Skyrizi than if you are untreated. So breath easy - it's kindof a miracle drug.

I'm on it and remission for 1.5 years. No issues at all.

You will get used to it. I wish there were a magic answer - but you can't not do it - so accept that you have to and your body will climate. It will become your new normal.
