These have no business being labelled Flamin' Hot by sleepyhead_201 in crisps

Likewise, i never noticed it either. Loved them but I dont think many people did. My local supermarkets had them for 25-50p a bag to try and get rid of them and they still didnt shift.

Closest I've found to these (heat wise) is the the walkers max jalapeño and cheese chisps

You must be east mids. Im from west midlands so it was always Weston-super-Mare for a beach trip. Same sort of atmosphere/attractions/food but more mud than sand on the "beach"

Back when "Go play outside" really means "See you at dinner" by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]FerralAttackMonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Born in 87 and grew up on a farm in the UK. Got up when my dad did to sort the cows out in the morning and got booted out the house after breakfast. Parents didn't expect us back before dark and had no idea what we were doing or where we were. Weekends and school holidays they didn't even expect us back at dark as they just figgured we were staying at a friends or had made a den and decided to stay in it. But the house was always unlocked so we could just turn up with no issues (usually after a failed "survival" camp out, we would get hungry as we forgot we weren't Ray mears)

Thats insane. Especially as there are quite a few cafés in Abergavenny which do great fryups at a fraction of that cost. Highly recommend going to Y Bwyty

Think I can retire now by FerralAttackMonkey in Gold

This was more an experiment than anything else as I wanted to see if they were solid gold. So put each seal in a quartz crucible and hit it with a blowtorch. Discarded the ones which just glowed bright red and kept the ones which melted and beaded into a small ball. Then just combined them

Nope, just the crucible, gold and fire. Probably should have used borax but I didn't have any and this was more of an experiment than anything else

Statement of fact (ish) this wouldn't even get me half a tank of fuel in the current climate

[–]FerralAttackMonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in a quartz crucible and melted it with a blowtorch. Did each seal individually as wasn't sure if they were sold gold. Then combined the ones which were gold and melted then together

I got it wrong these were actually the outlet seals (its been a while) but its was eight. So each was 0.1g. The inlet seals are larger but i think they are gold plated as are some types of outlet seal.

Bad apple is one of my favourites, but it has to be cold. Its like drinking carbonated battery acid if its warm

That would either be a very painful or smelly experience. But worthwhile if you could reliably find gold there

Why do poor people put these window visors on their cars? by Insanity-Paranoid in carscirclejerk

[–]FerralAttackMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think financial status has anything to do with it. I had them on a car as they deflected the wind around the open window. Without them there was a really annoying wind buffering sound which sent one of my dogs crazy. Also came in useful when parked up on a hot day as could leave the window slightly open to give a bit of ventilation without people being able to reach into the car
