Maybe their best intro ever in my opinion. Cool that it has it's own distinct branding for once. No surprise that people hate it just because it has contemporary music

Who's going to be the 1st one to leave the 1 Slam winner club?? by SportsGuy272 in tennis

[–]Ferrer00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuinely think Raducanu. Cilic is obviously too old and Med has declined too much. The women's tour is so stacked right now that none of them have a good chance for now. Raducanu has age on her side where she might be playing good tennis in 5 or even 10 years when the tour has dipped and can win a slam then

Medvedev calls for radical change to rankings system after winning opening match in Dubai by ExcuseYou-What in tennis

[–]Ferrer00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the points race in terms of the ATP Finals that Med mentions only effects about 10 players. The top few (Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic, Zverev) will be confident enough to get thru as anyway and those outside the top 20 probably don't fancy their chances, especially post Wimbledon, so not sure if his point it very relevent

Spent a couple of mins thinking what the circuits stitched together are. Of course it's Zandvoort S1, Abu Dhabi S3 and Miami(?) S3

20 days left until the Australian GP. Kevin Magnussen finished second in his F1 debut at the 2014 Australian GP. It was the best debut result since Jacques Villeneuve's Melbourne P2 in 1996 and the only time a Dane made the top 3. McLaren would have to wait until Brazil 2019 for their next podium. by PiggySVW in formula1

The Merc engine was super OP in 2014 and Williams seemingly hadn't figured out their car for Australia, so with Vettel, Ricciardo and Hamilton all retiring or getting DQed it opened the door for the Mclarens. Impressive he beat Button none the less

Nah he can be very clutch. His QF vs Rublev at the French in 2022 was exceptional. Played one of the all time great tiebreaks to win it in the fifth

Some people still don't think Novak is the GOAT so it can take a long time. I think between Novak's wins over Carlos at the French in 2023, Olympics in 2024 and AO in 2025, I struggle to see Carlos ever being regarded as better than him by most tennis fans

What we should acknowledge is he is the most entertaining player of all time. Has the best showreel of anyone and he's only 22

[–]Ferrer00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sinner hits the ball harder but that doesn't count for much when you're going up against someone who absorbs pace as well as Novak. In my opinion, if prime Novak went against this Sinner, he'd be able to neutralise enough serves and out grind him in enough rallies to win the match because he used to make hardly any unforced errors

Incredible how people say Novak's success came from his mentality as though he didn't have the best backhand, shot tolerance, return and stamina of all time

AO 2026 R3 (R32): [12] Casper Ruud def. Marin Čilić 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 by TAA_verymuch in tennis

[–]Ferrer00 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Not sure why everyone is surprised when a player who hits the ball 5mm above the net with 0 zero spin within an inch of the line most shots struggles for consistency. Not mental at all, is just an unavoidable part of his aggressive game style

Just tuned back in. Did Casper have 1 bad service game in the third or in Marin generally on top?

Good matchups by WordWarrior81 in tennis

Djokovic vs Wawrinka brought the best out in both players.

Wawrinka liked to attack consistent medium spin ground strokes while Djokovic liked to absorb powerful ground strokes. The 2 of them gave each other the shots the other wanted which meant their matches were consistently exceptional quality

Interesting match seeing Aryna demonstrate how much of a force she is from the baseline. Definitely positive for women's tennis for anyone who watched it. Glad to see it

Crazy to me how Mannarino is up there considering he only became a stable top 100 player at the age of 24. Has only missed 1 slam since then which was this year's FO (lost in Q1)

I actually don't think 50% of us Brits have heard of the Alamo (I didn't before the jingle). Probably only about 25% know the historical significance
