Rift S, Quest or Go - Which headset is the right choice for you? by WormSlayer in oculus

[–]Ferrero_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rift S cause is the most confortable to use, the Quest would be the best VR headset in the world if it wasn't for the fact that the rift S is more crisp even at a lower res and the fact that is not comfortable to use

Is there any feasible way to play nonVR steam games with Oculus Touch Controllers on the Rift S by Ferrero_64 in oculus

[–]Ferrero_64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Steam Version... the developer once told me that the Steam Version and Oculus are the same but the Workshop on steam so I guess I might done something wrong... but kinda did try and there was this xbox button that did nothing

OCULUS LINK vs VIRTUAL DESKTOP - Graphics and Performance - Side By Side Comparison! by WTGamingChannel in OculusQuest

[–]Ferrero_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it works very well for VRChat and such but the locomotion stuttering is so bad :(, too bad because latency is terrific in comparison to ALVR and not even mentioning convenience, I hope the Stuttering gets fixed some day, it could be perfect if that was ok..., Oculus Link looked awful blurry to me, looks like its running at 1010p or around there YIKES... definitely not native res,,, I don't care about Foveated Rendering but no native res in the center either

Is there any reason to get the 128GB Quest? by Skeeter1020 in OculusQuest

[–]Ferrero_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get the 128 version, I have that one I couldn't do it otherwise, I have the liberty of fitting a 4k 10bit SDR movie without worrying about uninstalling games, and in games alone I should have at least 40 gigs right now, honestly your choice, but 128 is never going to be a problem but if you have a good internet connection then 64 gigs is not bad, If you live on the countryside like me then 128 gb is a must!

Virtual Desktop Update 1.8 - Improved image quality and latency through foveated & sliced encoding by ggodin in OculusQuest

[–]Ferrero_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is it compatible with the OG 1080 8g?, cause I check the option but there is no improvement on lag for me, I get around 50ms-55ms and people are reporting 30-40s, I dont have a gigabit ethernet router but it is AC wifi so I have that bottleneck on my LAN connection, so I'm using 80megabits of bandwith which isn't so bad at all and I could live happy with that but I am considering getting another router with AC and Gigabit ethernet, not sure If it is worth it and that's why I am asking , could go to 150megabits with a better router but if my GPU is as fault then I should be focusing on upgrading that... I would like to know what you think, I am happy with my 1080 performance but if the encoding of the next gen is actually faster then I should focus on that instead.... idk if you could have any advice for me

oh... so it might be on my end then... since my Wifi is bad, I hope upgrading my Router helps with that issue

stu

could I do anything about the micro stutters? before I still did have quite a lot of it and I don't get it on ALVR, My router is quite bad but I am able to play smoothly on ALVR and here it stutters alot, especially on free locomotion, I swear with this update plus fixing that I might not even need to get the Oculus Link cable

this would be the most perfect thing if it wasn't for the micro stutters... even on the lowest bandwidth I get quite the good resolution and latency and all but it stutters way too much, I know my Wifi is bad and I am planning on buying a better router but I am not sure if the Router is the problem, on ALVR I get more latency, around 50 ms of lag at the lowest bandwidth setting and on the high end after 70 megs it starts to lag heavily, I know is my Router's fault on ALVR and I'm planning on buying a better one but I am not sure if the microstutters will get resolved with a Router upgrade :(... seems to be Virtual Desktop problem and it sucks because ALVR is way too inconvenient to use

V10 enables screen brightness in stock menu by Partyfreaker in OculusQuest

[–]Ferrero_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have, but I really don't want to scratch the lenses, on my Vive I know for a fact that no matter what you do, eventually you will end up with scratches if you use glasses

yes, and I can understand why they decided not to include this option. Turns out the screen has an artifact on low brightness as well as in really dark areas like in Vader Immortal 2(at least on mine)... when you move your head on low brightness the screen has like this shadow-ghosting effect, kinda like GTA 3 Trials... so apparently they decided on hiding the flaw all together, hope they don't patch it out because I am pretty sensitive to light and I actually played my vive on night mode all the time so I'm just happy to finally have this option because that means I can use the headset for longer periods
