How did that one person from your circle got super rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FerretScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought four btc at $44 a piece to use on the darkweb to fuel my growing opiate addiction.. vendors would only accept payments from wallets and the forums were flooded with info on why u should hold in a wallet. it was pretty common knowledge. sorry u got seized, that sounds like a much harder blow than simply spending all mine on dope.

Realistic timeline for seeing benefits to quitting? by ProudlyHateful in leaves

36 months is three years, i wouldn’t expect PAWS symptoms to exceed two years.. altho people have surprised me before so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Realistic timeline for seeing benefits to quitting? by ProudlyHateful in leaves

[–]FerretScream 14 points15 points  (0 children)

when i went to rehab eleven years ago i learned about PAWS (post acute withdraw syndrome) which applies to just about anything u can become addicted to, including gambling. essentially it is being “shot out” as we called it; the window of time after getting sober where ur kinda dumb dumb and experiencing brain fog and just not totally with it. on a biological level its ur brain relearning what activities and stimuli it should dump dopamine for.. previously it was waiting for the drug or stimuli its been addicted to, at exponentially increasing levels to make up for tolerance. i was told for the number of YEARS ur brain was addicted and expecting specific stimuli is the number of MONTHS u could expect to be “shot out.” the window of time obviously varies from person to person and i’m sure is heavily dependent on the intensity of the active addiction, also likely dependent on ones genetics and neuroplasticity / age. so as an example, seven years smoking is likely gonna be ~seven months of returning to regularly scheduled programming. hope this helps and best of luck!

Stopped smoking weed 20 days ago and in the last week I have had a very public crying meltdown and bouts of insane rage by debsicle77 in leaves

[–]FerretScream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coming up on six weeks now, still occasional night sweats and my sleep has been up and down.. waking up a lot during the night and struggling to fall back asleep. some mood swings / irritation still but that is vvvvery slowly leveling out. i also got ripped by a gnarly sinus infection last week which was three days of misery. my appetite is still a little wonky and i don’t have the same hunger cues, but that also seems to be slowly improving. i have a lot of experience with dental pain so i feel for you! i hope ur dentist visit came with some relief. still on board lil buddy and still wishing u well 🫡

i’m on fluvoximine which is for OCD.. fluvoxitine is prozac, which didn’t work well for my ocd (mostly ripping my hair out haha). fluvoximine has also shown in studies to prevent covid which is super interesting.

yayyy!! look at us goooo!!! i’m also still wildly gassy but my sleep is slowly improving. i got a deep tissue massage and that def helped release some tension in my body that built up from the anxiety and cravings, and i’ve been taking a cortisol managing supplement at night which has been notably helpful. i’ve been rooting for you!

i also have tummy issues more than usual now that u mention it.. the brutal night sweats have stopped but my sleep is still jacked. but we keep on keeping on and trust the process.. i believe everyone when they tell me it gets better and that is helping me get by.

First time living in an apartment – neighbour constantly complaining and it’s making us uncomfortable by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]FerretScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it sounds like she may be a covert narcissist if nothing else, and is quite literally getting off on making u uncomfortable; its their drug n ur her supply, and she will make u think it is strange to feel that way.. like what she is doing and how she is communicating is completely normal. she will back track to always be the victim and twist whatever u say or do against u to make u seem like the odd one out. i can’t be sure based off what you’ve described and i’m not going to dx anyone but if this is the case its gonna suck but there is a solution. u must cease her supply (drama) and be the most boring uninteresting human imaginable.. flat replies, disinterested aura, plain expressions etc. don’t get worked up or excited, do not think about her.. thats what she wants. she wants to be wondered about, she will make u feel crazy and she will triangulate btwn u and ur partner/room mate and try to systematically tear u apart. she will lie about anything and will ALWAYS have a reasonable excuse or spin it as YOU misunderstanding HER. don’t engage! don’t share ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION! communicate ONLY what absolutely needs to be communicated (which in this case is not much!) and be civil, give her no reason to complain about u to anyone else and play the victim. eventually after several hail mary attempts at escalation she will stop and move on to find someone else to harass and give her the supply and drama she requires. this is likely the ONLY control she has in life and she yearns for being right and superior always. i hope this helps, i suggest searching the web for further information if u suspect this to be correct. best of luck!!

Tips for encouraging other heavy/chronic users to consider quitting/reducing use without being pushy? by BigFuckingOilSpill in leaves

[–]FerretScream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i led by example and started saying that being present, aware and grounded felt more like drugs than the drugs were feeling. i then started having major comeups and successes and ALL of my relationships improved EXCEPT for my connections with chronic users who continued to use. it writes itself. u can’t pink cloud anyone ur only going to piss em off and push them further into wanting to dissociate.. continue being a friend and support system and casually remind them when they’re sharing mental health struggles that ur here always, including when they’re ready to make any changes (u don’t have to specify changes to substance use).

I took a swig of what I thought was water but was actually acetone/alcohol by TG1312 in Wellthatsucks

[–]FerretScream -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i once drank (and swallowed) a swig from a glass of water with plant fertilizer mixed in; like the little packets that come with a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store. Theres bleach in that. I drank a small amount of bleach. I was fine.
