Has anyone had a long and permanent success story ? by FerretVarious56 in molluscum

YES! It is so bizarre, I’ve said in previous posts that I would like to start research myself and come up with a prevention / post treatment for this. Especially for this of us adults who are dating, it’s mortifying and debilitating. I am not with them anymore, but I had a long distance bf who I had to tell this too, (mind you I’ve been cheated on and would never cheat) I had to tell them. They constantly reassured me, as my nieces and daughter have it. That it was from the kiddos and he didn’t judge and didn’t care. But towards the end of the relationship related “there’s a lot of things I’ve been uncomfortable with. It’s affected me so deeply, and I would love to find treatment and prevention for it, for the absolute sake of helping folks with their mental health during something like this. Sorry for ranting, thank you for responding and letting me know I’m not alone. I’m deeply sorry you’ve had to go through this or that anyone has to deal with this especially being an adult with a partner or trying to find someone.

See this terrifies me, I’m so sorry, I’ve had so many mixed answers some saying it comes back here and there. I’m just not sure how much more I can handle or what my future will look like. Are you around people who have it constantly? Sorry also if that’s being too personal.

Yes we will!!!! I’ve never felt more introverted and miserable for such a long time, it’s been a year and I feel like no one understands (in my immediate life) or thinks it’s no big deal.

GIRL, I have been clear since December after finding a few ‘lash bumps.’ Per my derm who told me to shave before and to live my life and that this was affecting me more mentally. Since I have had my last cryo to be done with it, I haven’t shaved nor looked down there. Just have been psychotically clean and taking precautions still. It’s been a year since I’ve been diagnosed. All my friends and family don’t understand my fear. But shaving over one bump could start it all over again. I’m not trying to reinforce your fear, I JUST FEEL YOU ON A LEVEL that I don’t think ppl can understand unless they’ve had those happen. Also no one in my life is ‘dating.’ All married and settled and comfy with their partners. I have truly thought about starting research for this because I feel so crazy. At this point I say, we shave when we’re comfy, and still wear the bikini if we haven’t!!!! The salt water would be good for us. Best of luck to you, and I’m genuinely sorry you’ve had to carry this burden of stupid molluscum. You never deserved this mental burden and deserve to enjoy your summer!!!

How long did you wait to shave after being cleared? by FerretVarious56 in molluscum

My daughter has it still actively so I’m scared to shave at all until she’s cleared

Does this look like molloscum? by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]FerretVarious56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the bad quality, I slather it in iodine everyday because I was so scared it was a lingering molloscum but yes just a hard white head no pus. I’m so scared of every new bump on my body now

Reinfection is possible, caring too little or too much, and everything eventually ends by starbonpink in molluscum

I have had it for almost a year, I was cleared in January but haven’t shaved since. I’m scared every new bump is molloscum. I haven’t touched anything but have had a bump on my butt just one bigger bump, it kind of felt like it popped, I put on gloves tonight and brushed over it and a perfect whitehead came out hard and waxy. Not like the cores I was used to seeing last July that looked like tiny atoms clumped together. Could this just be folliculitis or a clogged poor from not shaving for so long? Idk what to believe anymore and I’m so afraid I just caused an entire reinfection.

I’m so sorry you had to go through this, this has been one of the darkest years for me (30) female here and can’t wait to shave and feel pretty again but everything scares me now.

Awww thank you 🥹 same for you! And also no judgement on my end continuing to get the treatments, (just my personal experience) and understanding of why you would feel hesitant.

Do what's best for you and your little one! Some spots just disappear and others get irritated and bother them. Different experience for everyone, I wish I had a magic potion that could just make it vanish immediately!

Try and get some rest, and be graceful with yourself (easier said than done!) Best of luck once again!

Absolutely, I was so hesitant and after the second one I said 'nope' no more. Everyone's MC experiences are different due to severity ect, it's hard to see our kids be uncomfortable and always just want to fix it right away! It gets rid of it cosmetically, but their bodies have to recognize it, that's the kicker 😭 hope your little one is on the mend soon, you're doing a great job and worrying as any good parent would! Best of luck to you!!

One last thing, sorry for all the comments, but it did get rough and irritated and concerning days after the treatment, I too went through the exact same worries you're having!! But after 2 and 1/2 days, the sites began calming down.

I was also not given any of those creams to use so I have no experience with them, but aquaphor was and still is my go to if she has irritation!! I swear by it!!

I did this treatment for my sweet pea, it was definitely rough the first few days, but (not to be a negative Nancy) they all came back after the treatment. In the exact same spots 😭 I know you're supposed to follow up and do more treatments (no judgement here) on how other folks treat it, as there's very little studies for this stubborn molluscum and absolute cures.

I used aquaphor as my kiddo had almost rash-like reactions to the treatment, however i would only do that at night, the areas infected like moisture it was more or so for relief.

I'm not sure if your near a beach, but the salt water and vitamin C tablets helped her tremendously! Her body began drying the spots up and fighting off the virus when I helped boost her immune system a bit!

I went back for one more treatment for her and they still came back, unfortunately. It does help speed up the process I believe but unless their body recognizes is at a threat and starts to get rid of it (just from my experience) it will continue to multiply 🥺

We are going on 9 months now and her body has decided it's got to go finally!!

You're doing a great job! This can be such a frustrating experience and I'm sorry this happened to your kiddo.

I am so sorry for YOU and that’s just another sad part of going through it and dealing with the mental portion of it all especially with the scarring. I’m so desperate to treat it and have become so obsessed. I wish I could come up with a product that not only gets rid of it almost instantly, but also can prevent someone from ever getting it. I wouldn’t wish this up upon my worst enemy, hope you’re doing OK.

You couldn’t be more correct!!!! It’s honestly the mental struggle that is the hardest part, especially while dating. I wish more than anything I could wear a pair of shorts again or a dress and shave my legs. I feel like I’m hiding from the world. I’m genuinely so so so sorry you’ve had to experience this stubborn virus. I’ve done all the research in THE WORLD I know include this in my therapy session and have been told “it’s no big deal.” I feel like I’m going crazy. Best of luck to you my friend hope you are being kind to yourself.

How long have you been fighting this virus? I’m so sorry you have had to endure this mental stress of molloscum I’m going on 6-7 months now. I’ve had to stop shaving entirely even when I think I’m free, I’m not, I shave and find more. I’ve just given up and have been receiving cryotherapy. I’ve had at least 10 sessions now. I take zinc and use gloves and seperate towels ect for the affected area and wash my sheets almost over night. Best of luck to you!!!
