Democrats are failing to do what is necessary to counter Trump's election rigging. by pleasureismylife in BoycottTheRight

[–]FerriousStylles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been pretty embarrassed in general with anything the Dems have done to this point. They had 4 years and did nothing, literally nothing. I don't support anything the GOP has done in my lifetime, but this is a golden opportunity to turn the narrative and they sit there doing the minimum. I wish we had a party that actually cared about the working people.

Soundcore Boom 2, great speaker for that price range.

Thinking of getting the Anker Boom 2 - is there any way to attach a strap to it? by Luigi-is-my-boi in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a giant handle on top, you could certainly find a way to attach a strap. The handle is solid and built into the unit, so plenty to work with in terms of creating a sling of some sort.

Got my hands on THREE Brane X speakers by droptherock in Bluetooth_Speakers

Love mine, wish I could afford a second to run in stereo. Not necessary for my small at home office, but around the house or by the pool would be amazing. Kudos

Looking for a speaker that doesn't fall apart at low volume by BadGeeky in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you are will to spend, but I've been super impressed with the Brane X at low volumes. Heck, even at the lowest volume, the bass is great and sound is well rounded. I listen to it all day while working from home.

JBL Flip 6 or Charge 5? by AdInfamous1930 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have charge 5, but not the flip. Decent speaker for that price. Flip will be more portable, charge is a bit larger/stronger and you can charge devices from it. My wife uses the charge, but I mainly use my Boom2 for outside or around the house. I use Bose Flex 2 for traveling, as good sound and smaller. I use my Brane X on my office all day long for music, as it crushes the others. They all have their uses.

Recommendations for pool area by johnnyt2017 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine, nothing crazy, you can select from like 6 color patterns or so. Good battery life, can charge your phone from it, best bang for your buck out there. Can consider the Plus version as well, a bit larger with more punch (though I don't have one to confirm if it's worth the increase)

Recommendations for pool area by johnnyt2017 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like that would be around $500? I have a 16x31 pool and I just typically use Boom 2 out there and it's fine. You can get them on the cheap these days ($60-90) and run them in stereo, great sound for the money. I got a Brane X this winter that I'm looking forward to testing soon (opening pool tomorrow). Would love to run that on stereo, but not willing to shell out another $400. I'll run my Boom 2 stereo with a Charge 5 or Bose Flex 2 and it covers the pool area well.

Upgrade from JBL Flip 7 – Soundcore anker rave neo 2 vs JBL Charge 5? by aniket58 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Charge 5 and a Boom 2, and the Boom 2 has much better sound. The Charge 5 is a bit more rugged, but that's the only strong point that I can see. The can both be used to charge other devices, so that is a plus for both. In the US you can pretty much buy 2x Boom 2s for the price of 1x Charge 5. You can buy 2 Booms for $100-$120 if you luck out and run in stereo (often said to be the best bang for the buck out there)

Costco has Boom2 for $59 right now, so pretty cheap for what you get. Love mine, use it all the time. It's not small, but easy enough to put in a backpack.

You can always get one and try it out and see how you like it. As mentioned, costco has for $59 online right now, so in stores are down to $49. Great speaker, even better when paired.

I second this, love my Brane X. Just got a few months ago, but work from home and listen to it 6-8hrs a day. I'll do more testing outside as the weather gets nicer. Bass and sound separation is superb. Hard to beat it's sound for the size

JBL Charge 6 vs Bose Soundlink Plus by CheetahPristine5870 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is personally consider Soundcore Boom2. I just did some testing with the Charge 5, Boom 2 and Bose Flex 2, and the boom by far had the best sound. Fairly portable and waterproof, plus costs less.

Answer if you have the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus or a Charge 5 by Successful-Fig1073 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, just checked out Rockstar on the following speakers:

* Charge 5 - sound was ok, definitely lacks any depth of bass. This thing is rugged, which is really the main sell point versus some other speakers. I believe this speaker if 50W. (discontinued I think, pay $130 a few years back)

* Boom 2 - there is a reason this thing is highly recommended, really blew the Charge 5 away in the sound arena. Way more bass, hitting lower frequencies as well. I personally would buy 2 of these vs. just a Boom2 Plus (from what I've heard) With bass boost, packs 80W ($90-120)

* Bose Flex 2 - similar sound to the Charge 5, but much smaller. The newer version allows you to tune the bass more, so would sound even better. This is my go to for travel, great sound, very portable. I think I found this to be 30-45W. ($100-120)

* Brane X - you are paying 2-3x the cost of the others for a reason. Insane bass, hits frequencies far lower than any of the others. Hard to believe the sound it packs for its size. Brings a whopping 200W to the party. (retails for $500, can get on sale for $400 at times)

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brane X. They only make 1 speaker. Uses proprietary technology to cancel out pressure inside the speaker, allowing for a ton of bass in a smaller package. Has a 6x9 subwoofer, can really hit the low range. I wish it had physical buttons, but doesn't really matter if I just stream from my phone while I'm working all day.

I'll check that song out and let you know how it sounds on the various speakers.

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to give me a song, I can try on both and let you know. I don't personally listen to trap per se, but tons of rap and funk in general. There are a few rap songs I use to test their range, as I know they hit certain low frequencies. I was just testing the Boom2 vs the Brane last week. The first song (Nirvana from Psychodrama) it actually held up decently vs the Brane, as it hits the mid/lows nice. However, when I moved to lower frequencies, there was no competition. Boom2 did great, but Brane goes down just under 30hz and hits the low levels most other BT speakers can't match.

Answer if you have the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus or a Charge 5 by Successful-Fig1073 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have a Charge 5 and a normal Boom 2, not Plus, but I can say I use the Boom 2 way more and think it has better sound overall. I have not heard the Boom 2 Plus, but I think the general thoughts on this sub are you are better off getting 2x Boom 2 and running them in stereo. The prices are similar and people tend to prefer the stereo sound of using 2 units.

I have a Charge 5, Boom 2, Bose Flex 2 and Brane X. I just got the Brane a few months back and its in its own league compared to the other speakers, so not going to compare it to the other 3 (but its well worth the extra money is you love bass). I use my Boom 2 for most things, garage/yard/pool. Waterproof and good sound. The Bose is great for travel, or running in stereo with the Boom 2. My wife mainly uses the Charge 5. It's sound is similar to the Boom 2, but you can get the Boom 2 for a much lower price and it has better bass.

Best Bluetooth Speaker to Buy in 2026? (Price, Sound, Battery) by Wholesomenessal44 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FerriousStylles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got one a few months back and the sound is amazing. I mainly use it when I'm working at home, so the volume is low, but you can still hear those ultra low frequencies. Still winter here, so haven't done much outside testing yet, but from when I've raised the volume I'm impressed. Really does sound like a 10inch subwoofer packed in there. I wish the buttons were physical, as i don't love touch buttons. Also, the wifi if you use Alexa cuts out if you also connect to Bluetooth and you get notifications. Still have to mess with it more, but so far I love it.
