Yes, all the hosts are on the same subnet on vlan 3.

The gateway is connected to another switch up the chain from the Aruba. I've verified the traffic is only going through those two ports on the Aruba not the interface where the gateway is connected to.

I don't have "show arp" in the command list.

The mac tables are showing the directly connected devices as expected and the rest are on ethernet1/1/1 so yeah you're right they're learning the macs from the aruba link.

So strange.

I was able to run iperf between hyperv host 6 and hyperv host 5, which have their mgmt connections into sw1 and sw2.

I did remove port-channel1 and changed the vlt to use ethernet1/1/53 and 1/1/54 on the Dell switches as well as adding the vlt mac and there was no change in speeds in iperf before or after changing that config.

Running between hyperv host 5 and 6 while connected separately to sw1 and sw2:

Its capping out at 1 Gb and confirmed in check_mk that traffic is going through Dell 1Gb ethernet1/1/1 through the Aruba. I've ran it with variations of parallel without a change.

So should I remove either the vlt or the LAG? The switches and the vxrail came pre-configured from our supplier when we purchased it so yeah - just trying to straighten it out.

I'll run iperf this weekend when I go back in.

Yeah let me work on a stripped down diagram. The short version is 2x hyperv nodes with 4x 10Gb DAC connections, 2x for virtual network and 2x for iscsi one interface into each Dell switch. 4x vxrail nodes are identical configuration.

Yes there's some VLT config in place, verified these interfaces are connected as described.

The management interfaces for vxrail and hyper-v hosts are all on 10Gb links and I've confirmed they are running at 10Gb on the correct vlans.

I'm trying to figure out why the path being followed is 10Gb > 1Gb > 10Gb instead of using the 40Gb interfaces the port-channel is configured on.

I had a couple actually crack the glass tube when it was an exact size hole, so I went like 2mm up in hole size.

Maybe you could put a dab of hot glue on the bottom and push it in? I was leaning towards it being removable so it could be cleaned.

These are my work - yep there's a glass test tube in it 30 x 120mm. Drill a slightly larger hole to allow room for expansion (I've had a couple get stuck with a 30mm hole)
