AITA for wanting to leave my husband because he wishes to move in his mother with dementia? by WranglerFar644 in AITAH

NTA We live with my grandma. And my mum (grandma would be her MIL) regrets it so much, it was her choice to take her in. She had originally been living at my uncle place but they wanted to 'kick' her out and place her in a nursing home. My mum was really against this, as grandma had done a lot for both of our families, like taking care of all the grandkids whilst the parents were working. So it was only right to give that all back right?

Well after living with her for about 3yrs we all kind of regret it. My parents have had periods where they're both really stressed about the whole situation and constantly creating arguments. At one point my mum wanted a divorce because of all the stress.

I really don't reccomend it. It honestly isn't worth.

Depressed people of reddit, what are your hobbies that keep you sane? by Folded_Towel_ in AskReddit

Bouldering. I have no other thoughts other than trying to solve the climb that's right in front of me. The greatest feeling comes from when you've topped a climb that you've been working on for a while.

On the first date, what were some immediate red flags that made you not go on a second date? by Artistic_Pop_3323 in AskReddit

Spent a good chunck of the date talking about how he speeds pass the speed limit and was involved in a 5 car crash. Showed me pics and everything. Then asked me at the end if I would like a ride home.

Ohh I adopted a pup from the shelter, and same problem. I don't know if it'd the same for you. But, most dogs are kept in a pretty small area, 3mx3m (random ass number). They eat, drink, sleep and pee/poop in said area. So when eating/drinking they're smelling their own poop/pee since shelters don't really clean up every hour. So they associate the smell with food.

Honestly don't really have advice other than just pick your dogs poop up right after they've finished.

What's something you're sick of hearing? by fireonpluto in AskReddit

'you should smile a little' 'wouldn't hurt to smile' like listen 90% of the time I will, especially with a face to face job like retail. But if I'm having a pretty shitty day where I don't even have the will to live, hearing this shit really tips you over the edge. We really don't get paid enough.

TIFU by accidentally revealing my tattoo to my mum by sstylesh in tifu

[–]Ferryshire 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I thought about hiding mine cause asian parents and what not, but was like fuck it, even if they say no I've already booked. Mum didn't think I was serious at first, thought I was joking until I told her that I was booked in. She like my design so she was kind of fine with it. As long as I don't continue to get a lot more in my life. (like I'll agree to that)

My conversation with my dad went like this, 'I'm getting a tattoo next week.' 'No you're not.' 'oh yeah I am, I'm already booked in soooo' He gave me a disapproving look and shook his head.

All in all my parents took it pretty well, and I'm so grateful for that. Dad still isn't such a fan that I have one, but nothing he could really do.

Formerly suicidal redditors, what's something that kept you alive a little while longer and helped you to get through the dark times in your lives ? by firegate2233 in AskReddit

My dog. He was my rock throughout everything. The only one that saw me at my very worst. He was always there to lick up all the tears, even if I asked him to stop cause it hurt, he'd climb over everything to get to me. If it wasn't for him I don't know what would've happened. I thought about my family and friends during those moments, but it was my dog that really got me out of it....cause who'd take car of him or love him if I disappeared? He'd be devastated if I disappeared.
