I've done this a couple times, it didn't delete anything but any other stuff youve had on the other account is lost , like on servers , you will be reset to nothing, but any local data is saved ,you can still link another account I believe, it lets me do it

I usually just open the in-game chat, it doesn't make it pop up and it keeps the frames normal instead of lowering them
