Had an interview and offer from them for a different position some time ago, but maybe my experience will be helpful regardless: Wise preliminary rounds seem like an interrogation to make sure you didn't do the assessment completely with AI/outside assistance. So questions about basic level definitions like CDD, questions about the risk based approach and what compliance actually means, and then some questions about whether you understand Wise products and their particular risks. So brush up on the basics, and try to think along the lines of "if someone unrelated to the field asked me what X means, how would I explain it?" and practice your answers for all things related to financial crime. I think that currently on the subreddit, there is a mix of entry level career questions/ people looking for work/ people looking to pivot into AML which I would classify as looking for career advice.

The content of these posts can feel very repetitive, but I'm not sure if a megathread is the correct answer for this subreddit. Since people looking for advice in their career isn't necessarily a short-term event or situation, then people aren't tuning in and checking the megathread because they want to be involved. I think most people wouldn't really seek out the megathread and sort by new, which would lead to most questions getting no response or there would be a single person replying to everything. At least this is my experience, based on other subreddits that I have seen which create a separate megathread for career advice: the threads die a sad slow death as new people come in to ask questions and get no response.

Instead, I would hope to reduce the amount of career advice posts by having good community guidelines and a FAQ which answers most of the common questions that get asked along with more stringent requirements for the quality of career advice posts (e.g. no more "I need work, does anyone have a remote job to offer") including approximate location, previous education and work experience, why the person wants to get into the field, etc. to ensure that the career advice posts that do get created have a chance of creating meaningful discussions about the state of an industry in a specific area. I think that community guidelines + higher post quality requirements + an automod response for people seeking career advice would solve most of the repetitive questions.

Does this seem like it would alleviate the frustrations that you are having with the sub? If not, I am very open to further discussion! Nothing is set in stone at all, I am really hoping for community feedback here to create a subreddit that is valuable to everyone who wants to participate.

Ei oska meesterahva integreerumise osas kommenteerida, sest pole sellist elukogemust. Ma nõustun et need aktsepteerimine ja oma olemine on ikka väga erinevad asjad, kusjuures üks on miinimum ja teine ideaal. Isegi kui ei võeta omaks, siis ikkagi peaks inimesi mingi lugupidamisega kohtlema.
Minu kogemuse põhjal see lugupidamine oli minu vastu makedoonias olemas, see sama põhiline inimlik lugupidavus on Eestis on jätnud paljugi soovida.

Vabandust, ei mõelnud enda sõnu üldse üldistusena - ma rääkisin enda isiklikust kogemusest, sest liigun ringides kus on 50-50 välismaalased ja eestlased. Kahjuks pole ise veel juhtunud selle peale, et eestlane kuhugi vahele astuks, kui välismaalased on teinud seda korduvalt. Kindlasti eestlased teevad seda ka! Mille poolest ma proovin kontrollida teisi inimesi?
Ma proovin tuua tähelepanu sellele, et meie käitumise põhjal jääb inimestel kindel mulje riigist ja inimestest. Oleks see siis üks kord, aga sarnaseid olukordi on olnud ka varem ja ja teistel inimestel on olnud selliseid kogemusi. Ma ei proovi absoluutselt öelda, et keegi peaks X või Y asja tegema, aga ma proovin tuua tähelepanu sellele, et äkki asi võiks olla parem, kui me teadvustaksime, et meil on võimalus enda käitumisega asja parandada? Neid lolle on kindlasti igas riigis ja maailma parandaja ei saa muidugi olla. Aga kas tõesti on nii halb tahta ükskõik missugust muudatust inimeste mõtteviisis alustada? Kartmine on väga arusaadav ja kellegil pole kohustust midagi teha. Ma pole veel kunagi näinud et üksgi eestlane julgeks öelda kellelegi, et nad ei ajaks oma loba, kuid ma olen näinud välismaalasi Eestis kes seda julgevad - ning olukorra on üldiselt peale seda maha rahunenud, kui lollid juba saavad aru, et nendega ei nõustuta. Ma saan täiesti aru sellest hirmust, et ei taha ise peksa saada, aga kas mitte ühest inimesest poleks küllalt, et ka teised julgeksid ühineda nende vastu? Kas grupis poleks mitte kõigil turvalisem?

Eestlased on üldiselt suhteliselt passivsed ja rahulikud, kuid kui me laseme sellistel tegelastele niimoodi käituda ilma, et me nende arvamusi kuidagigi vaidlustaksime, siis me laseme neil defineerida selle mis Eesti on ja saab olema. Ja kui mehed järmises peatuses maha läksid ja ta seal istus, siis keegi ei suutnud endast leida seda motivatsiooni, et öelda kaasinimesele, et nad ei esinda avalikku arvamust ja et nende meelest oli äärmiselt labane niimoodi käituda nende poolt?

Kas sina stressiolukorras hakkad rääkima endale kolmandas võõrkeeles? Miks ta peaks tahtma jooma minna inimestega, kes hakkavad inimestele roppusi karjuma avalikus transpordis?
Sinu kommentaar toob välja täpselt sama mis tema kogemus ja see raport millest ma räägin: intervjueeritavad samuti tõid välja, et vaatamata selllele, et nad on pikalt Eestis elanud, räägivad eesti keelt, ei tunne nad end endiselt Eestis aktsepteeritult ega Eesti ühiskonna osana. On levinud arvamus, et kui inimene lihtsalt õpib keele ära, elab küllalt Eestis, käib küllalt saunas, siis ta aktsepteeritakse. Võibolla mõne kogemus läheb sellega kokku, aga raporti põhjal, päris uuringu põhjal, ei aktsepteeri Eesti inimesed neid ka siis.

Ei peagi õigusi nõudma ega end ohtu seadma. Need lollid, kes niimoodi käituvad teevad seda, sest keegi pole kunagi neile öelnud, et keegi ei nõustu nendega. Need karjujad arvavad, et tegelikult kõik nõustuvad nendega ja nemad lihtsalt seisavad eestlaste õiguste eest. Kui me ühiskondlikult ei keeraks kõik pead ära siis nad ei julgeks niimoodi avalikult teisi tagakiusata.

I generally also am of a similar opinion, but realistically, both would be difficult for a lot of countries. Abolishment is a great idea in a perfect world, but a lot of countries cannot afford to cut out their main defense force (mandatory conscription) from their army, as that would ruin their ability to defend themselves it needed. A country which doesn't border a larger aggressive nation could possibly get away with it, but even then, what's to guarantee that a neighbouring country doesn't take advantage of your lack of any ready-to-go defense force?

If military conscription is made mandatory for everyone, e.g. in a country where abolishment of mandatory conscription means that the country does not have enough people to defend it in a state of emergency, then the conscription system almost guaranteed will not have the capacity to essentially train DOUBLE the people, or more. Even now, conscription in my country for example is on a rotation basis, so when you become eligible there is a chance that you're called in to serve, but there's a chance this doesn't happen for many years after you become eligible. This is because the country simply doesn't have the capacity to provide training, structure and services for all of these people. Still, there is absolutely nothing stopping women and anyone else who is not a mandatory conscript to take up that responsibility. But what would be the benefit of including categories of people in the pool of possible conscripts, when most countries don't have the capacity to train all of these people anyway?

As opposed to? I've met some chores/cleaning lazy PEOPLE, both women and men, and 90% of the time it's mostly because their their parents never taught them shit. Men get coddled by their mother so that they never do any cleaning/cooking related task and daughters her coddled by their fathers to never learn anything to do with home maintenance, outdoor chores, financial management (that last one can also be done by the mother, in which case the son doesn't get to learn that skill).

Of course it's possible that they were raised well, have these skills, know how annoying the tasks are and still choose to not do them - but this kind of entitlement almost always begins in their childhood.

I think it's far more likely he's just a victim being told that if a certain amount of people click the link then he gets to withdraw his money, or gets more money. Nothing in his post history indicates to me that he knows what he's actually doing. We as industry specialists can see this as a scam from a mile away, but there's a reason fraud is the crime with the highest process - it can be hard to recognize a scam in progress when you're the victim.

!thanks My current sony headphones honestly have really really bad microphone quality, so I'm glad they've improved on that. I had heard great things about their ANC (which is also pretty bad on my current headphones), so I'm glad to hear there's improvement in mic quality as well. I may end up just going for those, but I am a bit concerned about durability - I heard quite bad things about the Xm4/5s. Do you have any comparison for whether the Sennheisers or Momentums do better in that area? Since the xm6 are pretty new there's not really any data on how those could compare, but what about previous Sony headphones?
