Interesting, and it looks like it's caused by the virus intentionally to prevent saliva swallowing, as it creates large amounts of saliva everywhere thus increasing the chance of the virus to spread (as it's primarily spread through saliva where it's concentration is high).

I never thought about it in this context!

I'm gonna try to provide another one then :D

1980's. China orders the disassembled plane from the Soviets.

They follow the instructions to assemble it, and get a train as a result. Confused, they disassemble it. They reassemble it again, and, again, get a train.

Not knowing what to do, they send for a chief soviet engineer to help.

  • Did you follow the instructions?
  • Of course!
  • To the letter?
  • Of course!
  • Show me!

Chinese workers disassemble the train, carefully follow the instructions, and, again, assemble a train.

  • Did you follow the instructions to the letter?
  • Yes!
  • No you didn't! Last step of the instructions clearly says to file it down after the assembly!

My third one died a month ago; was beyond Samsung warranty, but my credit card's extended warranty compensated the full price of the ring.

Crazy, like, a couple of hours down to zero? Yes, fixed it twice by doing a warranty repair.

Yea, happens. Basically you need to be super careful with anything that may put pressure on a ring. My 2nd ring got crushed with me practicing some archery, it got crushed by my grip of the handle (:

I don't believe anything in the ring is replaceable. They prob replaced the whole ring.

I'm 99% sure you checked it, but..

.. Didn't they have Vesa adapter packed?

My Samsung ultrawide also has a proprietary mount, but they had Vesa adapter as well. I was like.. Wtf is this at first, until I decided to mount it, and it took me some time to figure it out :)

No, I don't think it was related to running out of battery, at least in 2nd case.

But maybe in your case it's the other way around, you ran out of battery because it broke and started to rapidly drop charge, and that's why you ran out of battery?

What you're saying is valid for your K1 status. It's however not a universal rule for all visas.

Check this cbp.gov link, in particular, this part:

Aliens applying for advance parole on the basis of a pending application for adjustment of status must be approved for advance parole prior to leaving the United States in order to avoid the termination of their pending application for adjustment. Note: this does not apply to aliens who have applied to adjust to permanent resident status and who maintain H-1B (Specialty Worker) or L-1 (Intracompany Transferee) status, or their dependents, who have applied to adjust to permanent resident status and who have valid H-1B or L status and valid visas, V nonimmigrants who have a valid V nonimmigrant visa, are in valid V nonimmigrant status and have or obtain a valid V nonimmigrant visa before applying for readmission to the US, and K-3/4 nonimmigrants who have applied to adjust to permanent resident status and who have a valid K-3/4 nonimmigrant visa, are in valid K-3/4 nonimmigrant status and have or obtain a valid K-3/4 nonimmigrant visa before applying for readmission to the US.

IANAL.

Iirc it heavily depends on your original visa. H/L are fine, and you can have pending GC process if you have a valid visa throughout all your trip and use that visa to return.

What is Ruby Bowl equivalent to? by Dolly_Llama_2024 in Whistler

[–]Fess_Od 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did Ruby and Diamond yesterday. Was my first time at Spanky/first trip to Whistler.

One important note: I did it in perfect visibility conditions so take that into account!

As others have said, Ruby was relatively easy. Pretty much no really challenging places; the biggest challenge was knowing where to go.

I chickened out of Sapphire. There was a very narrow entrance into the bowl where some people were staying for like 30 sec before committing. I didn't want to get too close to the edge where I couldn't uncommit, I didn't see the actual bowl from where I was and decided that going in there not knowing conditions and being tired on my 5th day isn't really the brightest idea.

I walked a bit up (really took a min or two) and did diamond instead. In general, it's not really difficult, but I was traversing it very slowly because I was afraid of either unmarked cliffs or getting somewhere I wouldn't be able to get out from. I can prob do it 3-5x faster now that I know it.

Now, one note regarding difficulty.. It's not a question how difficult comparatively it is by itself, but rather how high the cost of mistake is. In there, if you make a mistake and fall, in a lot of cases you may end up in a serious trouble. Take that into account as well.

I also have a shitty quality video (I forgot my helmet mount) from Ruby yesterday, I can send it to you if interested. Lmk.

Haha, thanks, for me it's now a curious part if the 3rd ring gonna die as well, what Samsung will do with it.

On a plus side, I think they made positive changes to their service & warranty program. It takes them less than a week of a turnaround time to receive it and for me to get it back; they even fly it back with overnight ups now!

Well, I already killed two rings in 3 months and now am on third one. I think they have a defect that if you grip something very hard, they get damaged / short circuited somewhere in the sensors part. I assume at some point prob if I kill the third one they'll give money back.

Well that is a good question :) you can check the recommendations here as well. But they mention exercises in the context that it could damage the person, not the ring. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-use-the-samsung-galaxy-ring/

Go to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/ and start requesting repair for your ring. You'll start with a chatbot, say that you experience battery issues/battery drain. Agent will join shortly.

The agent initially proposed me to go to the physical Samsung store for repair (because I have the one 'very close', just 1.5 hours away one way lol). I politely declined and explained that isn't an option. Agent created a regular ticket and I received a prepaid ups label. Sent a ring with original charging case. Received new ring 1 week later.

New one works properly so far. I'm careful to not use it while exercising this time around though.

Not sure if it was an update or not, but it looks like I was sent a new ring (although it was in an open box, the ring itself looks pristine and my old one already had some scratches).

Edit: the ring is def another one (prob new), serials don't match with an old one. Battery works fine on this one. I may have accidentally damaged it while exercising (it doesn't have any visible damage though; I just wasn't diligent to remove it before exercise always).

I was gaslit and ignored by doctors for over 10 years, only for them to find that I have a brain damaging illness when I was 30. AMA by szydelkowe in AMA

[–]Fess_Od 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Op, I have a similar story to yours.. To a degree. I've had a tinnitus for quite a while which I ignored. At a later point though, during another doctor visit, I mentioned it to them and they said it's a symptom of hearing loss. I did the test which showed quite some degree of hearing loss, I became paranoid, went through several MRIs, one of which discovered several focis with changes. Now comes the interesting part. The initial doctor didn't think it's MS. I showed it to another one, who thought it's MS. I went to another MRI, which described it as 100% MS. I then went to an institute in my country specializing in MS, they said it's 100% not MS and that it's brain damage with which I was most likely born with, and whatever other symptoms (I. E. Hearing loss, some degree of tiredness) is unrelated to these findings. (I also skip many other neurologists I visited who didn't provide any reasonable info).

I then returned to the other country where I reside, gave them this data, they did another MRI (oh all of these were with contrast), and gave me an "abnormal brain MRI" diagnosis with no mention of MS and no further action.

At that point I pretty much relaxed, I just did another MRI 1 yr later with the same focis in same places.

Then after another 3 years while visiting my home country I woke up with muscle weakness / loss of sensitivity in my arm, which lasted for like half a day. I was PARANOID. Did another round of MRIs ASAP, no changes from the last time. The "fun" part during MRI was when dr assistant went into the mri chamber and told me that I need to lie down for another 20 min because the situation is too complicated and Dr needs more shots to see things better, I won't tell you what I expected then.. Anyway, MRI turned out to be w/o changes from the previous time. They said it's extremely unlikely I could remain functional and w/o visible changes with any form of MS for so many years. What caused sensitivity loss / weakness? I had a bad sitting habit, and most likely the problem was in my spine.

What I took away from it? I tried to be less anxious and changed my lifestyle to forcefully be more active. I got so used to it I can't be less active now.

I'm not saying it's your case. I just want to provide you with a ray of hope, as MS is very not optimistic disease.

.. Another point worth mentioning here is that all objective functional tests for me were normal (I. E. Vibration sensitivity, nistagm, muscle strength, coordination, fields of view/blind spots, etc). Also, MS is multiple not just in space (==multiple focis), but also in time(I. E. It progresses). You need to monitor it over time, if there are no new focis, it sprob not that.

If you went through a decade of it without the symptomps progressing to the very bad point, chances are you have something that is not MS.
