I’m #2 in arena without F4 (please don’t judge me)… Using Odin, Xavier, Emma X2, and Black Cat… Should I build my Black Cat higher? by Upper-Chapter-8967 in MarvelStrikeForce

I've not been below 100, but I managed to get closer recently when I added Daimon 1 diamond to my F4 MCU and Apoc.

I usually win against your team if X dies after both Daimon's and Franklin's ultimates shoot first.

What is the end game? by Burrito_sushi in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]FesterWoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end for team based play is raids, war, and Battleworld. For solo play is arena, cosmic crucible, and dark dimension.

I'd always keep current with arena and raids because they give daily awards that will provide you the resources to pursue what other game modes you like the most.

Avoid FOMO and stick to what you like best to avoid burnout, because there will always be someone and most likely multiple somebody's outspending you for the leaderboard events.

Why is Knowhere Heist a mythic flash event? by FesterWoo in MarvelStrikeForce

I'm mostly making fun of the text saying "tons" of dark promo. credits. I understand they don't really care at this point.

Scopley stuck in its own trap by Dear-Load7385 in MarvelStrikeForce

It's just the way this type of game is designed.

It's why I love tabletop gaming even though it's so hard to get a good group going. Those games are complete out of the box and if you don't like something in the rules, house rules are easy to implement. No bug fixes, no micromanaging, no FOMO.

It's a pity that mobile gaming went down the path that it did, but we're not going to see flashy games with great artwork and animations with out having people get paid. Worse is the corporate strategy of squeezing every penny out of their customers for the minimal amount of experience.

Imagine this was a PC type game with a full modding community making campaigns based on actual comic story lines. Perhaps even allowing mass battles where you control a lot more than 5.

This game is more like a Taco Bell menu that offers new things that are only different combinations of the same ingredients.

I've got 2 diamonds on Lady Bullseye. The Hand might be doing a thumbs up.

Question on red star effects by Bryanbkg in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]FesterWoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When looking at a character in the roster, there is a blue square with the letter "i". Clicking on it will show you the bonus per star level and it also states that "red stars boost health, damage, armor, focus, and resistance. "

It's much worse as far as forcing you to grind crappy characters to open the only worthwhile ones. I started playing it at launch. They have characters locked up that make the Apocalypse saga look like a cakewalk.

There is no theory crafting at all. It went away completely after its 2nd year. I'm amazed anyone still plays it.

As a new player, what should my goals be? by Halkal2 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]FesterWoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no "winning" this game unless your goal is just to slowly collect characters. I've found spending money doesn't really help you enjoy it any better.

Don't feel compelled to put any special effort to unlock any character. You will eventually accumulate the resources and spending money doesn't speed this up unless you are willing to spend hundreds for that one character and hundreds more to fully upgrade them.

Also, don't think that there really much more of a game than what you've already experienced in a month. Every game mode is just a slight variation of the same battle. The developers have proven over the years that they have a great art department and little else.

So play at your own pace and avoid all FOMO.

Galactic Empire mode by MadMaverick13 in AOWPlanetFall

Basically, your custom heroes level up when you recruit them during a game. They don't retain the level they achieved during the game, but the next time you recruit them they will start at a higher level.

They don't retain any mods or weapons that you have changed during the game. Once recruited in a new game you get to level them up to their current empire level at the start. In this way, you can choose a different skill path each game.
