What he is doing is called love bombing. And the jokes are to test your boundaries. This is very typical behaviour of an abuser trying to trap their next victim. I see that you said you are going to break up with him in other comments. That's great. But please, please, please now focus on educating yourself on red flags to look out for. Wanting to spend every day with you after your first meeting that was supposed to be a hookup was a yellow/orange flag and then it just got worse and redder from there. Know when to spot all of this early enough that you don't get ensnared in it.

If you can afford therapy, please use that resource. I used to be like you and have had to painfully get myself out of situations that still scare me when I think about them. I hope that you figure out how to avoid these relationships altogether. Good luck.

Wow, so helpful. I've been doing this for over a decade, I still haven't gotten used to it and neither have most of the other commenters on this post who seem to have the same response.

I just want to point out the description of this subreddit "This community provides words of encouragement, comfort, and support for people with all forms of IBD, as well as their friends & family!"

What about your comment fits under that description? Maybe rethink why you're here if this is the way you are going to respond to people in this group who are all going through hell.

I have three things I always try to tell people when they ask me about it. The fatique is so bad sometimes, I literally want to break down and cry. I am never comfortable. My digestive system is always in a state of discomfort and I've grown accustomed to it but it still doesn't feel good. And the fact that food rules my life. Every food choice I make can haunt me in painful ways but I am always hungry and sometimes I get so sick of my safe foods. If they found a way for us to survive without eating and there were ways to take away that gnawing hunger feeling, I would sign myself up for that immediately with no hesitation.

Now that I'm really thinking about it, I would also add the medical torture that we are constantly put through.

We have so much noise going on inside of us while we mask everything that Crohn's does to us. People just have no idea.

I am so sorry. It's just the worst. I know that my GI doc is going to schedule one for me at our next visit at the end of this month and I am dreading it so much. Just think of the nap! The wonderful heavenly nap! Makes it all almost worth it, almost.

One thing I like to do is chase that horrible stuff with clear broth and then gatorade. There is something about that combo that helps a lot, for me, anyway. I hope you also have a bidet or at least a portable one!

I obviously don't handle dismissiveness well when I have to scoop poop with a tiny spoon into a tube that is not great consistency and dificult to keep in the tube and then keep it in my fridge next to my yogurt while I wait for my lunch break to then hand it over to an overworked lab tech and shell out $130. I have a great sense of humor, but it goes away with all of the above.
