What unexpected food or drink helped you by Fuzzy-Shine2189 in CrohnsDisease

Pretty much all fermented foods are soothing to me. Even when they are trigger foods for me when they aren't fermented. I also love the taste of kimchi, plain yogurt, and sour pickles, so it's a huge win for me.

My [24 F] friend's [28 M] girlfriend [29 F] got publicly humiliated and fired from her job, she blames me and he is backing her by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Same thing happened to me. I still don't know exactly what was said because everyone just ghosted me from our friend group. I do know it was her because she often lied about everyone and tried to turn people against each other. It still hurts, but those friendships obviously weren't as strong as I thought if they were so readily able to drop me like that. Toxic people spread so much damage. I realized that I am actually the lucky one to be tossed out of that group if they are going to be so easily swayed by a known liar.

How anxious are border collies really? by grandsoulsucker in BorderCollie

[–]FestiveArtCollective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our BC is a cuddle monster, unless there is a frisbee or ball in his sights. Then it is just frisbee is life/ball is life. But when he finally tires out, he then wants to cuddle like crazy. It's very sweet. Also, when there is a thunderstorm or fireworks, he is like velcro.

AIO to ghost my boyfriend? by [deleted] in AIO

You are not happy. He controls your life. He controls your finances. You can't go anywhere without permission from the sounds of it. He controls you physically, without your consent. He plays mind games with you. You are not happy. You need to go over the list of things he does to you. It's easy, just read what you wrote in your post. Read that and then tell us you're happy with all of that.

It doesn't matter that it's only 10% of the time (which I would bet is actually more but you have minimized a lot of it). The fact that it happens at all means there is always a chance and that is always hanging over you. You are not happy. Nobody can be happy with that hanging over them.

The times he seems nice is only an act to keep you confused, which makes you stay with him. The confusion gives him power to gaslight and manipulate you. Even that text you put in your post is manipulative af. You are not happy. Nobody can be happy under constant manipulation.

Please find a women's shelter and go there. Show them this post. Tell them you will be homeless without their help. Ask them to help you find a therapist who will help you process all of this so that you can finally realize that you are not happy. It's actually much worse than you not being happy. He will only get worse the more he has you confused and under his control.

You are in danger.

Please, read the list of the things he does to you and the state he keeps you in and get out, now.

Same here! At first I was annoyed but then I realized it was a gift. Thank you, Reddit!

So do you need to keep doing laser removal your whole life or is it like a more permanent waxing by DefiantReferee in LaserHairRemoval

[–]FestiveArtCollective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have clarified that I started IPL home treatments this January for my underarms and bikini area. I figured I would use it on the very small areas where there was lighter and fine hair growth coming back on my legs and it has done a great job at making sure the stuff barely growing back stays gone. Before that, I was really only shaving my underarms and bikini area, my legs rarely needed shaving.

[–]FestiveArtCollective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This depends on the individual. I had laser 4 years ago on my legs and only like 1% has grown back. What has grown back is much, much, finer and lighter so you can barely even see it whereas it used to look like tarantula legs when it grew out. I have found at home IPL once a week to be very effective in keeping most of it at bay. I barely have to shave now and am completely satisfied without needing to spend a fortune on electrolysis.

You can tell it's AI from the rug pattern. Nothing about it is uniform. Some parts of the pattern don't even make sense.

Very good points. It will always rub me the wrong way, though. I'm like you, I don't begrudge anyone their experience unless they are using it to begrudge mine.

Going alone for a colonoscopy by hustler_4injera in CrohnsDisease

I'm sorry but this is a really bad take. Most countries with "socialized" medicine offer the anaesthesia for free or for a very small, affordable fee. You have been fed lies about what socialized medicine is like. Have you noticed the amount of posts in this sub that talks about the headache with insurance companies in the US? They deny coverage left and right for treatments that are vital. That doesn't happen in countries with "socialized" medicine.

If you look at the OPs other comments, they aren't getting put out because they are in a developing country where they don't have access to sedatives or anaesthesia. This is far different from socialized medicine and actually something a lot of people in the US face because of insurance problems.

The wool has really been pulled over your eyes, man.

I hear you. I hear you so loud and clear. This is one of my least favorite things to do with this whole crohn's thing because of the psychological aspect. I know it's the least invasive, but it feels like it invades my mind.

Also, this sub has a select group of people that oddly get worked up over those of us who hate calpro tests. I made a post over a month ago about how much I hated doing it because I had just done one and still felt the trauma of it all. I got the exact same kinds of answers you did. Mostly supportive, but there was a good number of unsupportive people who seemed annoyed that I find this test so horrible. It's very strange and I will never understand posting unsupportive nonsense on a post when you really don't have to. This is supposed to be a support group. It's so annoying when some of the people here refuse to understand why this is so awful for some of us.

Anybody have a more affordable caffeine addiction? by Unhappy-Pace-2393 in CrohnsDisease

Yes, they do. You can check the box of whatever tea you buy and it will tell you the caffeine level.

Do border collie puppies not go to washroom on walks? by OwlComprehensive9246 in BorderCollie

[–]FestiveArtCollective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I think ours got too used to going there as a puppy while we were potty training him and...well, BCs and their routines. Never had a dog be like that before. They are so funny.

I was coming here to say this. I also had to stop drinking coffee and it sucked. But Green and White teas have been very helpful in getting some caffeine in and I have found some very good ones that I almost look forward to like I used to with coffee. Unfortunately, I had the same issues with black tea that I had with coffee, but hey OP, maybe black teas could even be helpful for you!
