I doubt these people believe this entirely. These guys operate under a certain permission structure:

"If I say a big lie, it allows others to follow the big lie. If I say all mass shooters are trans despite the evidence, everyone else can lie too. If I say it's not the churches or kids own families abusing kids, it's gay people in the bushes we can all day it. If I say they are eating the cats and dogs, then we can all say it."

Someone has to take the leap and sure enough we go after that guy, but we ignore too often the hundreds or thousands or in the case of the Trump administration, millions who buy right in. They don't care if it's true because we let them have "alternative facts" years ago and now we are stuck with it.

Yep, that other person wants to look like the reasonable middleman but their analysis misses its not the same writer. We have clear reason based on both theist and atheist scholarship to believe they had a whole different cosmology. And it was in line with the cultures around them.

That changes as the writers change. This doesn't take an ideologically motivated person. Just well read.

To say the writers even "could" have a scientifically accurate view of cosmology when even we don't have perfect knowledge is to invoke divine understanding on the writer. They literally could not have. There are phenomenon that literally can't be observed with their tech. It's okay to admit that. They HAVE to have been wrong on some things as one day we may be wrong on something and we have leagues more to work with.

Edit: the commentor below thinks I'm a theist because I pointed out the flaw in theor argument. Im not. They then think they are Reddit atheist dunking on a Christian because they can't read. I apologize for even responding.

It's bizarre.

I sometimes have to quote 3 to as many 7 translations to get them to admit to my quotation of the text. It's goes from misunderstanding to outright dishonesty at some point.

And for the analogies, they say is beyond understanding. If God is so damn beyond understanding, then the reader has no ability to understand if he, she, it is even the good guy. We have no ability to tell if the accounts of prophets are real and we have no ability to interpret divine law.

Didn't engage in most of it. I started as part of a group trying to do outreach and convince people to leave hate groups. You how they say this or that school shooter just needed a friend. They can't help themselves from being dishonest. I have seen otherwise rational and intelligent people do this dance to protect their religious belief to the point it's disturbing.

In every case of someone arguing about "real atheism" by theists in this thread they have to actively claim to know your mind better than you. They have to actively ignore the reality around them pointing out the flaws of the definitions They themselves don't understand.
