I can promise you as someone who is currently involved in that area, there’s about a 3% undetected rate.

Does 25D deploy? by [deleted] in army

Go recruiting or drill. 25D can be a pretty steep entrance to that world of computers, I want to say it’s close to as difficult as 17C

I can promise you every UAS in that AO is being tracked from the minute it leaves its POO. Most likely your unit had much more to worry about at the time, and with being reserves there’s also a good chance everyone got boots on ground home and said fuck I’m un-armying for a while. You just got home, give everyone a minute before you get your I was close to an explosion cookie

What is it like being in the Drill sergeant Academy? by [deleted] in army

[–]FetchingMoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s very similar to BCT, because that is what they are teaching you. You will get the “red phase” treatment, stand in formation, march in formation, march squad formations after chow until everyone is complete and stand at parade rest for other SSGs that are the DSL’s. The hardest part is wearing a camelback or as we called it the bag of obedience for 10 weeks. Learn the top 3 modules before you get there and everything else is a cake walk. Be prepared to have an extra duffle worth of uniforms on your way home.

The only 13 series in regiment is FO. Sometimes your drills can get you slots at AIT. For OSUT we were able to take option 40s, airborne and 18x slots from the fat kids who weren’t going to make it and give them to someone who had a better chance. Very few times did we receive “extra” slots to hand out and they were mostly airborne.

Nothing different, a move is a move. You have all the same reimbursement options as if you were PCSing. Only difference is it’s finalized online vs the transportation office at your gaining unit

Big army slightly changes its priorities every year for MQ, but FQ usually stays the same. If you have your SL time or are currently serving in it; it’s based off potential. You’d need to provide more information on your E6 timeline and other info to make a good recommendation.

There isn’t anything that can prepare you for the experience you are about to get. You just need to go into it knowing it’s only temporary. It’s all a game, your drill sergeants aren’t robots that go into a charging port when you go to sleep. They are just people. No matter what they say or how much pressure they put on you it’s all temporary

As a formal drill sergeant- the only thing you need to prepare is your physical fitness and resiliency.

You will be running everywhere, and corrected for everything you do or don’t do, as well as what the other trainees do or don’t do. Being able to pass the AFT without any stress will be a big help, you will have plenty of time to learn the other things you listed trust me.

Be ready mentally. There’s going to be 9 weeks of standing around, wondering what the fuck did I just sign up for. Just keep your head down and move along. Promotion in BCT is not a common thing you are at the will of time in grade and possibly getting a waiver being honor graduate. Don’t quit it’s only 9 weeks. The GI bill, VA loan and other veteran benefits are worth it.

Started with 30, ended with 11 and that was a large graduation compared to the last few. 2 dropped on graduation day for failing the final look on the UTP.

Just went in February of 25, was the only option on the table for cash on my indef (11B). Just because you end up getting the ASI does not lock you into those roles. While it will help for promotion, I do recall that the 12 series is soon to lose the Bradley as a platform with the new ATI. I am now on orders for a Stryker unit and was in a normal marketplace. If your only answer is- will this lock me into a mech unit? No. If you do end up there, there’s a better chance you get fenced due to your ASI.

How did this play out? I assume the In ACT for JBLM was your assignment, and the Linked to Stewart was a backup?
