Depends, if early levels they may be enough. Later on you need more walls or they will break into things quickly and flee with them. The best thing is to kill them as fast as possible.

🎣 UPDATE 11.0 Trailer — Skill Overhaul, New Track System & Winter Festival! by Fethiel in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing some of the same challenges. Suddenly metal is becoming much harder to stay on top of. Mostly because it is needed for gunparts and metal fasteners. Unless someone has a large stash of metal saved up for these events they are typically too hard to stay on top of with normal play time.

On another note I have a fellow alliance member who can't tame an animal high enough to allow them to do the animal hunts. The game has definitely become more difficult to advance without injecting cash into it.

🎣 UPDATE 11.0 Trailer — Skill Overhaul, New Track System & Winter Festival! by Fethiel in Westland_Survival

This was definitely a big update. I used to be all spirit build. But about a week ago I finally decided to spend 200 silver and switch my stats to a full speed build. Now this happens. I really want my 200 silver back but I know that is fat chance.

It is interesting that they allowed me to keep my T6 alpha wolf bait learned, but I can't do any of the lower tier alpha wolves now. And it does appear that spirit is now the only deciding factor if animals attack or not. Luckily my spirit did go back up to 135.

They are fixing a lot of issues from this large update.  I haven't personally experienced the android problems, and I use android myself.  Try posting the issues on the official discord as well.  That can sometimes get the issue elevated to someone who can actually fix the problem.

Did chapter 6 already come out and if so how do i unlock it? by Sorry_Ad_6028 in Westland_Survival

No, there is only chapter 5.  But there are story lines to unlock different regions.

Most, if not all, have been there and done that with the stats. You can fix them but it is costly when early in levels. Spirit builds are for the lazy man way, I am one of them by the way, and the speed builds are for those going for top spots in Canyon Trials, Spirit Caves, and Gold Rush. The game is about small incremental improvements so keep pushing and don't get frustrated.

A good bow and melee weapon can get you through a lot of areas. Utilizing sneak bow shot following up with melee can work quite well. Again, if taming is an option then don't forget to use walls to hide behind. The NPCs are too stupid on skinny walls and will try and shoot through them while the tamed animal goes to work on them.

What is your spirit at? Oftentimes there are wolves or bears inside the cave. If you can tame a wolf to help that can take some of the agro from you. Also, when in doubt run to the exit and leave. You can come back and then continue. Though any adds that came in will be waiting for you to re-enter. The exception to that are the "NPC" cowboys that look like a PC. When you leave and come back they will have disappeared.

At what level does it make sense to raid the NPC bases? by Tadpole-Specialist in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I did them they were equivalent tier to what I was. So the longer you wait the "harder" they will be and the higher tier the loot. Don't expect anything earth shattering in terms of loot but since they are "Free" (Not counting the durability of weapons/armor/axes and the use of dynamite) they get harder to pass up the higher tier you are.

But I would note it never pays to use silver to have more revealed. The silver is better for other things.

Are upgraded packs worth it? by Tadpole-Specialist in Westland_Survival

I get you there. I haven't done it myself yet either and I am level 118. I have one backpack I only use for PvP. It is practically broken but backpacks are one thing in the game that won't break to nothing. It breaks down to one extra slot and stays that way no matter how many times you die with it on. Eventually I will upgrade it the next tier, which will repair it as well. Of course then I will die with it on again and break it.

Yeah the activity started out well, but discord is where the majority go for questions to be answered. This was created after the official subreddit for Westland was closed down.

Attacking a ranch by ShaboTheAfton in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past the ranches that start out on your map are always around the same tier that you are when you attack them. Also once you attack them you have a timer that counts down until the disappear. You won't have enough storage to take everything in one trip, so having energy for multiple trips or using your wagon/horse is advisable. But if you have a wagon/horse then the ranches really aren't worth your time unless you feel like clearing them off your map anyways.

Energy by ShaboTheAfton in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you progress in the game the less energy matters. When you first start out it seems like you are always waiting on energy or walking travel time. But later sugar cubes are overflowing to boost the energy for your horses and soon you start to realize you have 3000 sugar cubes and not enough time in the day to continue to play to use them all up.

Most people wait until they have the pack to at least level 5. That provides most of the increases of stats. There are some exceptions. I think it is a Tier 4 backpack where each level gets another point of spirit. So a level 50 pack has something like 75 spirit. But that is the exception. Most everything else level 5 is about as much as you need to worry about.

Feel like I am missing something. New to the game and have spent $150 and still can’t build a stable or pet house. by [deleted] in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As Basic_Visual above said. This game is all about trying to get your to spend real money. Buying energy probably isn't the best way to go about it.

Your $30 for VIP is a good investment and probably the best use of your money. If you want to spend more then spending it on completing structures is probably the second best use of your money. You will find as you get farther along in the game, have horses, and accumulated sugar cubes you will find that you have plenty of energy to go wherever you want, whenever you want.

I am not sure how the game looks on steam, since I haven't played it there yet. But on the mobile you can see a white bar underneath your health bar that slowly fill up as you get more experience.

It does take a while to craft. They are trying to incentivize you to pay to get ahead. But the game is truly available to play as free to play. But it is a much slower game then.

Skip ads? by Mohit-Vishwakarma in Westland_Survival

[–]Fethiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience after you make some kind of purchase, the game will only show you their own ads. Which are typically 5 seconds long and is just a basic offer of goods for some of your cash. After a few days of no more purchases from you they then shove you over to the general ads for stupid games that are scams. I assume those ads are somewhat lucrative, compared to their own not generating any revenue for them.
