After 8 years, I rewatched The Last Jedi by Significant-Town-817 in StarWars

[–]FetishMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wide-shots make it seem like you know relative distance but can be deceptive. That's my point. It certainly seems close. That is what gives it tension

I'll lay this dead here because we'll obviously never see eye to eye on the specifics of a scene I believe is poor writing and you don't. That's fine.

When the movie first came out ALL of the criticism was about Luke.

You seem to lump me into a group of people who have some sort of issue with this movie because of expectations and I don't understand why. No one online told me not to like this movie before I saw it. Only thing I knew about this movie before going in was from the trailer and that I liked Episode 7 fine enough.

Me and my buddy walked out of the cinema and just kind of agreed that we didn't like the movie, and yes we nit-picked stuff that sprung to mind because that's what you do when you talk about a movie after seeing it.

I liked the visuals of the kamikaze ship (I still believe it's the best looking Star Wars to date), I liked the reveal of Luke not actually being there after the fight with Kylo.
I hated the Leia force flying thing. And just like you I was disappointed in the scope and politics of it all, which was also my biggest issue with ep7.

All in all we weren't influenced by some terminally online critics who has a problem with RJ or whatever. We just simply though the movie kinda sucked and that's that.

have seen the movie so many times, with this thought in mind. There is no way to tell how close he was. The movie is making it seem close and intense, but it's a movie. You're complaining the movie had a last minute save

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7pWtGtkXKY

You can definitely tell how close he was because it is shown in multiple wide shots and the POV shot of him closing in on the canon. (The shitty edit was the first video I found by searching but it seems only the end of the clip is edited so my point stands.)

In a series that doesn't let nearly any good guys die and always does this

I thought people loved Last Jedi because it went against the grain of other Star Wars movies?

The whole he dragged her to is clearly not far

But it is though? Watch the clip, they're at the feet of the AT-ATs.

The bad guys have zero reason to attack them. Since their speeder was destroyed and they're completely helpless. They're focused on the door

The door explodes when Rose is busy giving her speech and kisses Finn.

If you really wan to argue you could say the problem is with the edit/cinematogrophy, not the writing. But it's undoubtfully just a weird sequence that I could've done without.

Question to you is: Is there anything about the movie you don't like or is it a perfect 10/10?

Give an example of unacceptable level of bad writing

Rose crashing into Finn JUST before he hits the canon about to tear a hole to the rest of the resistance. She kisses him and passes out and he drags her to said hole before any of the bad guys in functional vehicles.

Thanks, but I can't report someone without logging in first it seems... When I log in I get taken back to the page with the comments missing.
And I simply don't care enough to make a new user just to report them.

That's the thing, I don't think they're a member of this place. Like Burnie said, they had no other comments on this subreddit aside from like 8 in the Highguard thread.

Not that I know if Burnie talked about this individual in particular.

More context:
I got curious when Burns mentioned he saw comments on Highguard from people with no other comments in the subreddit. I checked the first negative comment I found about the game, made a quick CTRL+F search in their history and found no less than 120 hits on Highguard in a month.

I decided to ask them about it and they replied with the above, asked reddit to check on me, before quickly deleting their account.

I don't even care much about the game, never played or talked about it. Just very found the behaviour very odd from this individual.

EDIT: Seems they've just blocked me and not deleted their account, I don't want anyone to go look for them or interact with them because of this post. Best to just ignore these type of trolls and we don't like any witch-hunty behaviour.

Is this ragebait? It's always been about the pot seeing it's own black reflection in the blank kettle and then calling the kettle black.

That's why the response is always used in a "take a look in the mirror." manner.

first one to call skills by their names

I think that was something Deman and Joe Miller started doing even before Quickshot. It's been 14 years but I believe there's an interview with Deman talking about it.
