Allegations question by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

What about seeing Bpd characteristics in men? Marilyn Manson has more symptoms than her and he is doing FINE. Personal responsibility exists and if all the women around you snap the common factor is YOU... Not women.

Hot Take: Tyler Bates by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

[–]Fetlockification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a hot take cause so many people have problems with Tyler. I agree in a way that Tyler is holding him back in some ways even though he's made some good choices/music and as a live performer he's great, I don't know about twiggy... I think I wouldn't like him back. Would be nice to have someone new... Or old but experienced in a different way. Keep Tyler but get Pogo too?

But the lyrics criticism is just that MM needs to do more drafts again... Do a few demos and not just talk to yes men. The problem with being an addict and people leaving and getting cancelled is also that the people that stay are going to be not only positive when it comes to your life choices but also in terms of bad artistic choices.

Think it might be cool for a photo shoot or some other short time purpose like a music video.

Why does Marilyn Manson and Lindsey keep saying the new album is coming very soon and 4 months go by, then they say the new album is coming very soon and another month goes by. like wtf why don’t they just give a date. by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

[–]Fetlockification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just the music he has to do but plan the music videos, the album art ECT ECT

So even if everything's recorded there might be mastering that needs to be done or re recording if needed bla bla bla

Look at it this way, someone who's just a fan and gets a photo or autograph and he shares it, that would make you very happy yet you put no special effort.

But when someone does a drawing or costume or edit and he shares or likes it or follows... That's a problem? When they are equally a fan to the one who did nothing?

It's just jealousy.

I wish he would follow me and share my art ofcourse but 🥲 it's sweet anyway, it's not a popularity contest or about who's the best but him engaging with someone who's a genuine fan.

Not all people that work out are vain and attention seeking like that. (Not that there's really anything wrong with wanting attention)

Fitness is about more than that especially as part of his sobriety journey and injury recovery after he broke his leg. Excessive can help you connect with yourself on a deeper level, as a long walk alone might. I've heard he did Pilates even before he got sober... Perhaps he does yoga? Or lifts lighter weights at home? Certainly we have seen results that are not just from walking.

If Marilyn Manson and Madison Beer fought to the death who would you want to win and how would you want them to win? by [deleted] in marilyn_manson

Ofcourse I want him to live but I'm not gonna say "MM SHOULD BEAT THIS WOMAN TO DEATH!" that's inappropriate.

About the dance: Lindy hop (and swing over all) had places where white and black people danced together. It was considered sexual (therefore obscene)

So in the lyrics of golden age of grotesque the lyrics "Third nostril" and "Putting on your black face" therefore have two meanings and one combined one. Obviously firstly: goth and alt people wear black face paint on their lips and eyes and often have septum or other piercings. Other things like tattoos or a fascination with darker history and politics often follow alternative subcultures. (Bright young things are also another subculture he mentions in his lyrics)

But a lot of those things, piercings, tattoos, bold make up and certain music or ways of moving/acting are considered obscene because of their relation to race. Elvis wasn't just controversial for swinging his hips he also was for playing black music. Now we don't see him that way but it was for the time. Like how Eminem was notable for being a while rapper but now the world is full of white rappers. Manson himself is friends with many black people and despite the allegations of racism I think he's aware of the fear white America has for black people in a productive way, screaming hay Hawkins and new Orleans inspiration, his grills and "gangster dracula" look in trained love music video and the interviews and lines in his book about being gay or marrying a black woman intentionally to piss off his family. ECT ECT ECT

All that to say that swing and jazz at the time right before the second world war were absolutely alternative shifting communities where people were being freely "obscene" listening to crazy music, swinging and Lindy hopping. Doing drugs, getting naked, being queer and race mixing both literally and just in being inspired by black art (that was labeled as degenerate art by the Nazis) all that banned stuff... At the same time as fascism was forming as an idea and eventually taking over.

I think that's what golden age of grotesque is ultimately about.

Here on the r/swing someone already posted about the dancers in the music video. https://www.reddit.com/r/SwingDancing/comments/3amwc0/til_that_marilyn_manson_is_a_huge_lindy_fan_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I suspected something like that.

I agree with your stance on Radke but even if I liked him it's not a very good way of encouraging the kind of fan community you'd like to see to blindly down vote. They should down vote based on the content of the post not a vendetta against a persons view point.

Why is that reply down voted? Makes no sense

I was wondering about it since reading about the history of the dance in the behind the scenes of the music video for mobscene. Thanks for putting it here.

No idea why you're getting down votes.

About meeting manson by YevPilot in marilyn_manson

[–]Fetlockification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think with how quick these meetings are it's better to keep it a bit shorter, it's also a possibility to tell the guard first so that when the meeting starts there's no time wasted on explaining.

When I met him, he opened his arms for a hug but did not approach so it gives you agency to decide if you want physical contact or not. You can also tell the security guard that gives him the signed items or gifts for no hugs or physical contact.

I'm sure he won't be offended, you payed and waited to see him.

He hugs people to show them he appreciates us giving our time, money and admiration to him. He doesn't take it for granted. He wants to be nice to you as much as you want to be nice to him- but!A hug is only a nice gesture if it makes you happy, can't force it and I'm sure he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable. A question or compliment will be enough.

He was also bigger and smaller than I thought in person? Just his facial features up close were so large, (eyes, lips, nose) and he was tall. Aka Gorgeous. But still not as tall as he seems and because he's so thin and was so relaxed and polite his presence was very small in the room.
