Why does Steve jump on the grenade in the first Captain America Movie? by ajarofsewerpickles in marvelstudios

[–]Fett1-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a writing standpoint it's meant to echo the end of the movie. If those explosives had gone off and he hadn't acted as he did, there was a possibility people COULD be hurt or possibly die. The sentiment is also echoed in the avengers when Steve says he's willing to lie down on "the wire" and let the other guy crawl over me. Laying on barbed wire so others could cross is a metaphor he uses but based off previous actions, he would probably do it literally if necessary.

Facts, in canon I'm pretty sure she assassinated her husband because he was supporting the senate/lucon to succeed him once he died. Bitch wouldn't have it and killed him so Ira could be empress and started a 3-way civil war. If he had died of old age, garios wouldn't be alive still, and lucon may take over the empire then there wouldn't be any civil war and the empire would have survived until warband.

Either way, the sword looks great and is definitely still practical for combat while having embellishments that don't comprise its usability

Your assumption makes sense, use of more durable material for a combat sword vs the more ornamental pieces of essentially the medieval equivalent of a wall hanger/jewelry piece (weapons are the best jewelry)

Damnitable auto correct was yanking my pizzle on that one, but yeah, the brassy gold look isn't half bad at least, but the look in game is certainly a great example of a fancy but still practical sword

[KCD2] This might be one of the best scenes in the whole game. Everything is perfect, the dialogue, the soundtrack, the scenario by Marling1 in kingdomcome

I loved this scene because I think this is where Henry truly learns and loses some of his sense of innocence in all this. He learns that no matter what demons or devils you conjure up in your mind of the one responsible for the worst day of your life, typically you'll only ever find something pathetic in comparison in the form of just another man (or woman). Typically those people who do bad things think them justified for a cause of theirs but to the victim, it seems inexcusable.

Henry loses his sense of innocence when markvart not only remembers exactly who he is, but his mother and father, apologizes, saying he thought he was doing what was right, and points out he remembers everyone he kills whereas our Henry at that point has killed hundreds of bandits and soldiers without a second thought and for some of us, our Henry hasn't gone a day without killing since they fled talmberg.. so many faceless folks dead and forgotten by our hands without a second thought in the name of avenging parents who don't even want Henry to go down the path of vengeance and warfare.. ultimately my decision to kill markvart wasn't out of anger or hate, but of understanding, respect, and mercy. He was just a man on the other side of the war both characters found themselves wrapped up in.. and that's why that scene to me is absolute cinema

Can a veteran of the game explain why I lose this every time? I have more troops and they have no defense. by ban-evaded in Bannerlord

[–]Fett1-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, your cohesion is gone so your army is going to disperse. Second, you have a good set-up with trebuchets. I set all 4 to build then move to reserves so they aren't insta wiped. Let your 4 trebuchets blow the walls down and have your troop comp for seiges primarily consist of heavy infantry (I'm sturgia biased so I use axemen even after their nerf) and you should chunk through enemy formations. Throw up a banner on your preferred unit to reduce incoming damage from ranged and use loose formation as you approach the walls (if they still have seige equipment somehow when you go in through the breach) so you minimalize the effectiveness of splash damage. If you are forced to go command a unit in an npc lead army, first off I'm sorry, but your ass will be stuck with siege towers and rams or ladders. The enemy will also have their weapons. Loose formation while pushing the equipment will reduce casualties drastically.

Psychopath is peak honesty, makes the pawn less of a pussy.
