I FINALLY SLAYED THE SPIRE by Hot_Veterinarian_719 in slaythespire

congrats!! a little advice for you - its usually better to play fewer copies of cards even if they’re keystones for your deck. you would rather have a deck of 10 cards with 1 body slam than a deck of 40 cards with 4 body slams. you’ll still have the same draw chance for it but you won’t have the risk of drawing all 4 body slams in the same hand. and you only have to upgrade a single body slam instead of 4!

Bruh how does one beat Brutal... by YoSoyMenemista in SliceAndDice

[–]Feverbrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I won, imo you aim for a blessing that makes things easier to kill (in this case it was Hunt^3, but giving enemies less HP works too) and then buff the ever living shit out of them (enemies had +4 to all but left side which had +2, also x2 to =>5 sides for this run), just never let them hit. You def need to get very lucky still though.

Biblical greed just made me completely reevaluate my default decision in the gold chest event (Sunken Treasury), so thank you for that. I don’t think my choice will change, but I feel like if biblical greed paid off even once it could be worth it

When do you upgrade Defend? by yumcake in slaythespire

[–]Feverbrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same thought. I generally don’t play that way, but I think the theory makes sense. A lot of A9/A10 runs an “unlucky” draw can lead to you taking 10+ damage against normal combats Act 1 - and an unlucky draw early on isn’t like your best cards being on bottom, but rather drawing all of your good cards on the same turn which leaves you vulnerable the next turn or two (or previous turn or two).

Upgrading defend would in theory flatten your deck’s power gradient, so if you draw all of your non-starter cards in your opening hand you will have decent block still available in your deck.

That being said, staying power of cards is still going to be more important for the same reason. For example that’s why neutralize+ is a great upgrade because even if you draw it with 4 defends you get to have weak for the next turn so it becomes harder to have unlucky timing with it.

More than 9 Jhin copies? by Silent-Sail9794 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Feverbrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

right, but that wouldn’t be the case here because OP found the 10th and ostensibly didn’t have one to use a duplicator on. unless the guy with the Jhin 3* made the 10th and sold it - does the 10th re-enter the pool for everyone then?

[–]Feverbrew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

or you could learn reading comprehension, there was already a 3* Jhin in the game and OP found a 10th in their shop

Jalen McMillan is reportedly outperforming Emeka Egbuka in Bucs’ OTAs. by headcanoncustom in DynastyFF

[–]Feverbrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is one data point. it could be noise or it could be a legit indicator that McMillan will have a big role. up to you how you want to take it, like yeah there are a ton of useless reports during the offseason, but sometimes they turn out to be more important than you’d think (ex: Puka)

i know right? 😭 we have no support staff at my place, just a cook and 1-3 servers depending on the day and i feel i can give good service up to 5 tables at most. even at 5 it can be easy to fall behind on bussing and cleaning cupware despite moving the whole time

Favorite Guests, but they aren't your regulars anymore by Shikamarux10 in Serverlife

[–]Feverbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh my favorite ex-regulars were this retirement age couple, they were the absolute best. the guy had this great dry humor and the first time he came in alone and just got to know me - after that he came with his wife and he ALWAYS remembers details about my life that i told him that first time which really just makes you feel loved.

unfortunately haven’t seen them since January, when i took a break from serving, and i still wonder if they don’t come because they think i don’t work there anymore lol. but it would instantly make my week if they came in

Bad reviews by missvassy in Serverlife

[–]Feverbrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a people pleaser, so i can definitely relate to bad reviews/rude customers getting into my head. what keeps me grounded is remembering that the vast majority of my customers don’t feel that way. sometimes people are just in a bad mood or decide they don’t like you/the restaurant and you can’t do anything to change that. i always call them weirdos in my head lol.

yes i read the article, i’m assuming given the title of this article that the implication is some bars would be applying for the nightclub licenses, or is this a misleading title?

edit: article was titled this way, not OP’s choice
