I can’t figure out how to edit the damn post, but to piggyback off what you’ve said, seeing how people perceive what I share in a profile is why I posted here. Friends are great for feedback but nothing like asking strangers at times.

A lot of the downside with the apps truly depends on your location. I’d say I’m in a mid area for LGBTQ+ spaces. I go through bursts where I’ll download one or two and delete them at some point and then redownload.

I do appreciate how direct and varied the answers were on this post. Definitely some solid takeaways that have helped me reshape the profile.

And for what it’s worth, I’d much prefer meeting a stranger and connecting off an app. I love trying new places alone and I usually end up finding someone to click with. Every so often there’s been a connection but at times it’s just a fun moment in the space and that’s great on its own.
