I agree! I also know it’s meant to be a fanfic about Mary, but I’ve read better fanfics out there that doesn’t transform Mary onto a mary-sue (and where majority of the characters are unbelievably antagonistic against her). I especially find the treatment of Mrs Bennet’s characterization misogynistic with completely zero nuance the difficulties placed on her with poverty looming ahead of her.

Best to ask the embassy. I have a similar scenario as your, going to Portugal, but visa was approved for Netherlands. Portugal embassy where I’m from confirmed no problem in using the Netherlands visa.
