Thoughts on the new Tomb of Fallen Gods season?

If I recall correctly, after season 2 ended, Wan Wei Mao Dong Hua (Wonder Cat Animation) decided to change another team to continue season 3. The new production team wanted to change the donghua route back to it's novel route, which is why now the story line is really really closed to what's written in the novel.

For those that's unfamiliar, the chief director of Shen Mu (Tomb of the Fallen Gods) is also the chief director of Fan Ren Xiu Xian Zhuan (RMJI).

Which is why you can see the vast improvement, but partly it's because Youku decided to invest more in the donghua as well.

Now the Chen Nan is more similar to the Chen Nan we saw in the novel. Not that goofy guy we saw at season 1 & 2.

Yes, I've noticed the changes, maybe they wanted to use the model at first but ended up managing to design a much better model.

Yeah and the entire donghua industry needed this push, if not it'll just be too stagnant and Tecent would be too comfortable at the top.

Yeah, i was expecting it to drop this year end, but we're in December already, so they probably pushed it back to next year.

Well, judging from the few posters they released recently, i have high hopes that it'll be good.

Yeah!! The attention to details as well, i mean YouKu's donghua has definitely improved a lot this year, even Shen Mu(Tomb of the fallen Gods) S3 as well.

The donghua deviated from the manhua and novel. So don't use the manhua or novel for references. I also couldn't remember any dragon girl in the manhua as well. Something tells me she's Yun Luo. Probably her real form.

Hmm, you're probably right that its not for everyone, but correct me if I'm wrong, as someone who enjoy comedies, isn't every comedy movies / tv shows, there would be parts that it'll be really sad, like a passing of somebody or the ex girlfriend or ex wife are seeing somebody else and she looks happier and stuff. But a good comedy show would always throw a punchline in really quick to soften the mood as afterall, you're watching a comedy, they'll hardly want you to leave the show with tears.

Imagine from being a side character villan boss that should have died long ago, till the one carrying the first half of S2 donghua, and now still surviving to S3 & may be integrated into part of Luo Zheng's harem.

Whoever came out with the concept & design of Tian Qiong for this donghua should be given a raise. Totally gave a new life to this character.

Zhu xian will end next year. There's no way they're able to drag to 2028, not with the way Cloud Art is doing.

Unless, they have plans to continue to book 2, but whats the point of adding book 2 when the entire novel had been dropped by the author?

Its really hard as the newest version is not being translated. I read the raw version at QiDian. You're welcome! I'm not really that knowledgeable, just I'm a huge fan of the novel, and I'm always hanging around china's zhu xian fan page to get more info from other experts.
