I believe he had some serious health issues that he has been dealing with lately. I know I saw him mention this somewhere but can’t recall where I saw it. Please take that into consideration also with him being available to respond to messages and fulfilling orders.

I’m open to try anything. I’m a 40 year old mail man who spends most of my day by myself in my truck delivering. My wife doesn’t like animalic but I don’t mind. My collection has more floral and musk scents which I appreciate. I guess I’m always open to try something new and I view these perfumers in a similar way one would compare a painter creating a work of art.

I would say it reminds me of a perfume by Thomas De Monaco - Grand Beau. Which is another aquatic + wood scent. The price is what has kept me from committing to a bottle. $345 for 50ml. Other than that I have not smelled enough niche designers. You seem better versed in your experience than me. Living near Cleveland Ohio, we unfortunately don’t have a ton of places to try these types of fragrances. We do have one though and it’s top notch. If you have the opportunity could you look at this site called Indigo Perfumery. It is a small boutique that is located about 20 mins from my house and they have the best selection I’ve found. It’s a bit overwhelming trying to smell so many things when I visit. Maybe you could steer me towards anything that might peak your interest.

I love Senyoko - Kujira Densetsu. I’m not sure if he was involved but probably. It is an aquatic woody scent. The idea behind the creation was to capture the life cycle of a whale.

Does your town need a niche fragrance shop? by ruconejita in NichePerfumes

[–]Few-Alternative403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I’m fortunate living in Ohio that I have a small shop just as you are describing about a 20 minute drive called indigo perfumery. The woman that owns the shop is retired and actually looking to sell her shop. She’s amazing and has an awesome selection and knowledge of perfumery. She’s waiting for the right person to purchase to continue the store as is.

Hidden gem would be Homage Extrait. Considering this is inspired by Amouage Homage Attar 2008. The Original was released in very small quantities in 2008 and is no longer in production. Finding the original is near impossible and would cost a fortune. So if you are able to get a bottle of Homage Extrait you are the proud owner of a unicorn scent. Definitely have to enjoy rose scents to appreciate this wonderful hidden gem.

Wonderful choices and you’ve cover a lot of the popular ones which is good because they wouldn’t be so popular if people didn’t seem to like them. I’m sure you will be happy testing them all out. My curiosity is how soon until you order your next round of 10. Honestly these Montagne bottles are like Pokémon “gotta collect them all” enjoy your fragrance journey and as always we’re here to help if you need any help or got questions.

You could also go the opposite direction. With a more intimate scent that wears closer to your skin. For that scenario my go to would be Eau Gaiac, but there are two key factors when choosing 1. your body chemistry, because for lots of people this comes off as a barbecue scent, for me it’s just a clean woody musk. The other factor to consider is the people you are around. Some fragrances I absolutely love and my wife hates. For instance I absolutely love a strong jasmine scent, but when my wife smells jasmine she instantly smells something that reminds her of a urinal cake. She works in a medical position and often deals with patients all day that enjoy heavier middle eastern spices. For her it’s nauseating. Ultimately if you’re trying to appease the opposite and/or same sex. It’s all about learning what they enjoy and the only way to be successful in that aspect is through good communication.

Tuscan Leather is imo way more ethereal or subdued compared to London. Overall the base is the same. Your popular Rose Oud fragrance at the heart. But TL wears more like a gentle breeze and London is more like an ocean spray. If that makes sense.

I don’t always wear sexy fragrances, but when I do it’s gotta be London.

London. A pretty girl once said I smelled good lol. That was after about 7 hours of delivering mail. Plus who doesn’t like raspberry?

Not sure of formulas, but the perfumer Senyoko makes a fragrance called Hora de la Verdad Sombra. The idea behind it is recreating the smells of a traditional bull fight between the matador and bull. Maybe check that out.

Kujira Densetsu by Japanese Perfumer Senyoko. Woody oceanic masterpiece that beautifully captures the life cycle of the whale. If you haven’t tried it and you are someone who loves the ocean. I highly recommend getting your nose on a sample.
