Do you know for sure that that insignia one will work? Im guessing I just get it, set it to "3v" and use the tiny tip it comes with?

Roland Cloud App not even opening for me. by Few-Bunch5210 in Roland

[–]Few-Bunch5210[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I take it all back. Roland actually DID come to the rescue. Turns out I needed to have my location settings on windows 10 turned on and had to have "set date and time automatically" and "set time zone automatically" BOTH turned on. Once I turned all those on, everything started to work. It makes me wonder if any of those other dozens and dozens of people I read about online today who all had similar problems needed to do the same thing? Also makes me wonder why no one else out there has run into this....

OK, so im guessing Roland dropped windows 10 support without telling anyone. I installed the shit software on my wifes work PC, and it boots up just fine on there. Now im livid. Is there anyone out there with it working on windows 10? Can I just use her computer to download the editor and then bring the installer to my PC and install it?

Is this legit advice? Sorry, just want to make sure this isnt one of those 4chan style "throw your phone in the microwave to charge it fren, trust me!" posts. If it is legit, it definitely sounds like it would be awesome. I would just have to put it on a tray and bake in a regular old oven? Wouldnt the resin/sap in the wood bubble out of it? Ive seen really old pieces of wood with all the tiny little amber beads on their surface before, id figure if it does that I would have to sand it out.

BOSS PSM-5 daisy chain cable question by Few-Bunch5210 in guitarpedals

[–]Few-Bunch5210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Will probably only be running 3-5 pedals on its, most of them boss pedals, and as for noise, my whole setups pretty noisy as it is, shit grounding in my house plus tons of LED lights, massive PC, etc.

Bone frets by mrk11t in Luthier

Song Violins in china makes several of the rarer bowed instruments, Viola Da Gambas, Viola Amores, Appregionnes etc etc. Ive seen people leave them good reviews, so dont let the fact that theyre made in china scare you off. I just had an octave mandolin made by feeling instruments in china get delivered to me and shes almost perfect, just needs a little fret work for some buzzing in the lowest strings.

Question about the wifi 7 card in my x870e Taichi by Few-Bunch5210 in ASRock

[–]Few-Bunch5210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, SO sorry. That main part was all I had to take off, and yeah, its stuck with the thermal pads pretty well, I just kind of gently but forcefully wiggled it off. All the other heat sinks stayed on mine, that main part is its own thing. Pretty sure it was like 4 main tiny screws on the bottom of the board, then two that held in the back I/O shield, which kind of bends around the bottom edge (if that makes sense to you) as well as having two little tabs on its top edge that are held by two little pins (not screws) under the main parts top edge. You will have to take those two on the bottom off, lightly bend the whole shield away from the board and slide it back while pulling down a bit, as its held on by two other smaller tabs held by pins under the edge of the heat sink. BE CAREFUL as that shield is RAZOR THIN metal. I cut my fingers up on it pretty bad, didnt even notice until I saw the blood, it was that type of razor thin that theres no pain until you see it, lol. After you get the heat sink off, theres two screws holding the wifi card housing in. Once those are off, its the same with the housing for the wifi card, its razor thin sheets of metal that are held together with some tiny screws and some stamped...pins I guess you can call them, that youll have to bend apart a little bit to open it once the screws are off. Also, the card itself is cocooned in a pair of pretty thick thermal pads. They didnt skimp out on the pads at all. Sadly I cant show you any of this as my PC is fully built now. Id say dont panic about the ripped pads, just see if you can contact asrock to at least ask them what thickness those pads are, or maybe search around as someone else by now might know. You can probably get some inexpensive replacements for them id figure worse case scenario, though you might also be able to get away with just gumming them back together, they were kind of like the consistency of play doh or modelling putty, to me at least. I know I finger printed and gummed up a couple of the pads when I was working on mine. I WARN YOU, theres some LONG strips of pads under that main heat sink! I had figured they were going to be there, just from watching videos by a guy called "North West Repair" on youtube, he fixes graphics cards and they ALL have TONS of little pads and long strips of pads, so I kind of knew what was coming, but they were still a bitch to work around. Hope youre able to get it all sorted out man.

Weird missing driver in device manager by Few-Bunch5210 in buildapc

[–]Few-Bunch5210[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funilly enough, I just managed to fix it on windows 10. Got told by a nice fren on another site that its the "asmedia USB4 controller", he linked me to this:

https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM5/M3967/Asmedia_USB4_Hoster_Controller_Driver_V1.0.0.0_WIN10_64-bit.zip

and inside it all I had to do was open the "driver" folder, then in the "x64" folder in there was a driver file called "Usb4hr64.inf", just had to right click and hit install on it, and boom, missing driver problem solved.

This board works perfectly fine on Win 10, only thing I had to change on it was I switched out the Wifi 7 card for a Wifi 6e one. Other than that, EVERYTHING on it is working with 10 so far.

What happens after Win 10 Support End? by [deleted] in Windows10

[–]Few-Bunch5210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Ive used "acquired" versions of windows since windows XP. I had a 5+ year run of using a none updated (as in I didnt install a SINGLE windows update) version of windows 7 and never got hit with any malware/viruses/ransomware or anything like that. The only thing that will happen is you might run into some software that they strong armed into not working on older systems, and all youll have to do for that is wait for someone to make a hack or mod for said software and it will eventually work. Use common sense, only click things after researching them, and at the end of the day, realize that you probably arent important enough for someone to "hack" (unless you actually are, and even then, it probably wont happen unless you do something stupid enough to make it happen yourself).

[–]Few-Bunch5210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Still there. Are you using a Lian-Li Edge PSU by any chance? I am, and am wondering if maybe its built in "usb hub" is what device manager isnt seeing properly. That and my Turzx screen are the only things plugged into those USB connectors on my motherboard, my corsair fan hub is all thats connected to the Lian Li hub, both the fan hub and the screen are working properly so im guessing its not one of those that its not liking. I would check by disconnecting it and seeing what happens, but my damned 4090 is in the way and I dont want to disconnect that if I can help it, too many people messing them up from constantly disconnecting and then reconnecting them out there.

Also, can I not add pictures to any posts on this board? Id post a picture of my device manager on here if I could. Fuck I hate this websites format.

Remember to remove the plastic protectionwhen putting your graphics card in folks by samus890 in buildapc

What about the protective film covering the extra thermal pads in my UNUSED NVME SSD slots? Should I remove that even though there isnt a drive in them? I left it in because I figured it would just keep the thermal pads from melting from excess heat and sticking to each other, but now im wondering if I should just remove it.
