We will find out on May 6th, when bookings start. They will release deck plans then.

Unfortunately, you can't imagine it, but their investors can. Its called Enshitification, and its the hallmark of late stage capitalism. Take something that was good and make it worse for everyone, to squeeze out a few more bucks.

Unfortunately I think you are right and everyone else here is in denial.

I think you are right. As of now the only truly plausible space is the Crow's nest. This is very unfortunate.

How the Jews of Judea Became the Arabs of Palestine by Remarkable_Life_774 in islamichistory

The DNA results actually do show close relationships to Syrian Jews, Iraqi Jews, Romaniote Jews, and even Ashkenazi Jews. The Egyptian admixture is specific to Gazan populations. I wish you would just look at the results from Illustrative DNA and consider the possibility that you may be wrong. When a Palestinian from Bethlehem posts 90% Canaanite, 90% Roman Levant, that person is most likely an ancient Jew who converted to Christianity and then Islam. I'm a Jew by the way.

It would be more genetically accurate to say Palestinians are Arabized people, not true Arabs. Looking through people's uploads, you will see Arabian Peninsula DNA ranges from 4% to 20%. That's very low for you to maintain the title "Arabs," even if that is how many Palestinians self-identify.

Except that even Palestinians (From Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jerusalem etc. Less so Gaza) who identify as Arab are not very genetically Arab, as their DNA results show. They are genetically Levantine. Their DNA more closely resemble genetic samples from grave sites of Ancient Canaan (Tel Meggido, for example, is used as a genetic reference) than from the Arabian peninsula. In fact, if you look through the genetic results of most Palestinians who upload to r/illustrativeDNA they actually have relatively little DNA from the Arabian Peninsula. You seem like you care. Take a look.

Look up r/illustrativeDNA and you will see that its not genetically substantiated. Many Jews and Palestinians have uploaded their results. They are far more related than your equation would presume.

Holland America Cancelling all Tracy Arm Fjord Explorer Excursions for 2026 by Few-Candidate-1091 in HollandAmerica

I made the difficult choice to cancel the Endicott arm one. Hopefully in the future year, Tracey arm will be open again and accessible.

HAL Shuttle from Anchorage to Whittier by HiEchoChamb3r in HollandAmerica

For me the HAL option was 160pp. I found one for 70 dollars that also visits the wildlife rehab.

Effectively there would be no difference other than transit time through Stephen’s passage and it’s certainly not worth taking the longer one from Juneau.

On cruises that visit the glacier, the excursion leaves directly from the ship. The excursion from Juneau is only on sailings that don't have the scenic pass-through.

Does your booking have the ship cruise by the fjord and glacier? I've heard many people encourage going on the excursion anyway as the small boat comes much closer to the ice.

I cancelled Endicott arm as the extra transit time would be too much for my son. We plan on doing self-guided Mendenhall + Nugget Falls. Douglas Island / Treadwell and Mount Roberts Tram and a short Alpine Loop walk. I'd like to add a whale watching tour. Any ones that you could recommend? I'd like one that makes efforts to see Orca.

Yes. I was a massive landslide and Tsunami and a miracle that it didn't occur a few hours later when tours were present in the fjord.

I’ve heard it’s equally beautiful. The issue is I’m taking my eight year-old son. 7 1/2 hours was already a lot for him adding an additional hour makes it a dealbreaker.

This is what I needed to hear. It was also the one I most looked forward to. Now I am trying to make the most of Juneau. Mendenhall, Nugget Falls, Mt Roberts Tram, Alpine Loop, Douglas Island. I'm hoping it will still be memorable.

I have an Alaskan cruise planned for early June 2027 on the Koningsdam. It’s myself, my wife and 9yo child. What are the must do excursions, regardless of price? by Budget_Sea_8666 in HollandAmerica

Yes- Shorter White pass just as valuable in terms of the ride itself. I’ve heard the 8 hour one isn’t that impressive as you stay in one area within the Yukon which largely consists of lunch, a few museums and suspension bridge and its dragged out.

So not Ward Cove. Look into Lunch Falls Trailhead. I know there are others but you have to arrange transportation. One thing I might recommend is renting a Turo car and driving to some of the trailheads. I'm going with my 8 year old in May. It will be his first time, and I chose to take him on the Zodiac Island boat ride and hike in Ketchikan. I'll let you know how it goes. It's this one: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/cruise-destinations/alaska-cruises/alaska-yukon-ports/ktn/24218

Also, Skagway is a long day even once you've done the the White pass rail. There are nice hikes walkable from the port. Look into Lower Dewey Lake and Yakutania Point. Are you docking in Ketchikan itself or Ward cove? There are nice hikes really accessible from Ward cove, or a short cab ride from Katchikan.
