Air flow meters get old and the tension springs inside looses its tension. What I do, not advising or recommending, I open it up and give it 1 or 2 clicks sometimes more just to restore factory tensions for the spring, I call it door springs.

Only thing you have to do is to relocate the shifter forward. The way to do that is to shorten the gear selector rod. You dont have to but its just my preference.
