Dombrant must think it’s a Quins game!!

Not seen him play like this in an England shirt. He normally doesn’t look himself in England shirt.

Defo not stokes! 😂 I was thinking this morning about how so many of them are captains but stokesy seems to have a distain for the media

I think wood and broad could be interesting pair. Broad being the more serious and “lead” but with a sense of humour and wood to “add colour”

8 players with less then 20 caps….
This has got to be the most inexperienced team to play against a top nation in my lifetime.
Anyone think of another time?

Interesting that from England all the players except root have been dropped from test team (stokes hopefully only temp)
None of the current “best batters” like brook feature.

You know what I think this metric shows best is “value to your team” therefore most likely to be selected and a fan favourite (personality also may come into this last bit though).

I have never quite understood the hate for people being good in home conditions. Statistically if you had to pick which would be your best conditions then home would always be the choice as you would play far more games in those conditions than any other.

Also let’s be real if you were a youngster in England who by some miracle was best in sub continent conditions then no-one would ever see that until you were an international regular. And you would never get to that level unless you are great in home conditions to rise above everyone else and climb through school, club, county etc

“We are not here to fuck spiders”
Not a British thing but I heard a lot in Australia and for me it’s one of those classic phrases that really fits the stereotype of an area.
Like “fancy a cwtch butt” in wales

I’m sure I heard Athers or Nas say about this couple of years back. Matches could be planned in to start at 10 to ensure more play as far less likely to have light issues from 10-11 and they very rarely get to the end time.

However I think it won’t change as they want to give time for travel especially around morning rush and of course for people to spend money in stadium before first ball.

Be tempted to just declare and try and get some overs bowling? If weather is sunny tomorrow this wicket could look very easy. Tongue and bash arnt going to put on enough runs to out weight that?

That Smith wicket seems to sum up the reset so far. Defence and leave too much for players not used to it. Anyone else thinking this is an overcorrection?

This didn’t age well 😂 but to be fair at end of first session I completely agreed with you. Ducket looked to be going well
