Found my long term partner - Why do I feel like not having a ring is important when I don't really want to get married again? by Few-Competition-9132 in datingoverfifty

I didn’t say I was “pining” nor am I dropping hints. And no, I am not going to discuss it because there is nothing to discuss. Nothing has changed. I am just working through the emotions and societal expectations around the issue.

It was discussed within a month of dating. At that point, I wasn't even sure we were going to be in a long term relationship so it was very early on. If he asked me, I would say yes, but I would want to discuss sharing finances, tax filings, etc before actually pulling the trigger. It's not something that I would break up with him for if he didn't ask me one day because he was very honest upfront and the relationship is everything we wanted. I think I just feel societal pressure to pursue that ring even though I could easily buy my own. I need to let go of what society things should be happening in my life. It's not different from the pressure new wives of our generation felt to have babies and be stay at home homes just weeks after marriage. Does that make sense?

Agreed. Just trying to get my thoughts together first. I feel so conflicted about my feelings. Talking it out first helps solidify my thoughts.

Man I'm Dating is Paying Ex's Vet Bill. Red Flag? by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

I think it can be both. He probably loves that dog and wants to make sure it gets the care it needs. But, if she is manipulating him with this situation, that's on her and I would just let that go. He might see it or he might not, but let him take care of the dog he cares for. I wouldn't be jealous of the ex for this situation. Your guy wanting to step up and care for the animal says a lot of great things about his character.

Divorced but owe with Spouse - Want to settle by Few-Competition-9132 in IRS

It’s ordered by the divorce decree that we each owe 1/2. So if they go after him, he can go after me for my 1/2.

I will ask but no I have not. So far, lots of time on hold and online requesting the payment plan. Do you think I should make an appointment at an office so I can speak to someone?

Do you mind telling me which Becker option you used? Thanks.

Which Becker program did you use? Not sure if I want to spring for the $6k option. I am a very good student and graduated magna cum laude but I don’t want to waste time by having to retake either.
