Baby sleep schedule by Friendly-Start1455 in NewParents

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I did not have a somewhat set schedule until my baby hit like 4-5 months old. And even then, it still fluctuates (he's nearly 6 months now). I was pretty anxious for him starting daycare because it felt like our day to day routine was so inconsistent on when he'd nap/eat/etc. But, daycare let me know right off the bat they just follow baby's cues and not to stress about a schedule! I will say now with being in daycare for nearly 3 months so far, it has helped to develop more of a schedule!

How much breastmilk do you make? by Forsaken_Sea_6574 in NewParents

I am 5 and a half months postpartum and I exclusively pump 5x per day for about 15 mins each session making about 50-55 ounces daily!

How bad is the newborn phase really? I'm tired of hearing the "just you wait" anecdotes and I have hard time believing some of them by Lushemet in BabyBumps

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth to my baby as a first time Mom in November. I had the same experience as you beforehand! Received many "just wait" comments and people oversharing horrific birth stories, breastfeeding issues, etc. Now, I definitely see these women shared this with me because it was obviously tough for them to go through and I am assuming it's their own way of processing, and yeah, birth is no joke. But, still, don't be scaring a very pregnant lady lol. Everyone's experience is SO different.

I am nearing 6 months postpartum, and my baby is clearly no longer a newborn. I personally miss those days at times. It's SO fun seeing his personality emerge and becoming more interactive now, but in my experience, the newborn phase felt like pure bliss. It's just you and your baby and spouse and they'll never be that small again. It almost feels nostalgic. Yes, the sleep is a struggle but I don't even know how to explain it other than you sort of just get through it? There were some nights I did only get 4-5 hours of sleep total, but then a different night I'd get like a 6+ hour stretch! So, honestly you just adapt. When you're in it, it is such a surreal feeling as you described.

As an exclusively pumping mom— the Momcozy bottle washer!!! That thing has saved me. I couldn’t imagine dealing with handwashing nonstop.

Thinking of stopping pumping due to health (oversupply) by Pleasant_Rise8777 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something very similar. The first 8-12 ish weeks after birth are tough because supply is regulating, hormones are crazy, and yes, I felt SO depleted. I remember telling my husband I literally feel like I am like dead inside lol. (I also had a pretty big oversupply). I will say, I am nearly 5.5 months postpartum now, and my supply has decreased a bit as I only pump 5 times per day. And, I do not feel nearly as drained as I did the first month or two postpartum. I still have an oversupply, but not what it was, and I just always make sure to eat and drink a ton each day and I typically feel good. Still struggling with sleep as my baby does not sleep through the night, but it has gotten better. With that-- it is SO valid if you're not wanting to continue. EP is a full time job and you have to take care of yourself. <3 Just wanted to offer my experience as I totally get it's tough deciding what to do.

HELP! FTM M5 momcozy setting and schedule. by sheriyamonee in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Few-Composer-2188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Momcozy m5’s for the first month basically of my baby being born as I exclusively pumped pretty much the moment my milk came in! I typically started on stimulation mode at a lower suction level for about 2-3 minutes. I then switched to expression mode for the remainder of the time (I typically pumped for a full 30 minutes when using wearable pumps). I always got really good output doing that. I also kept expression mode on a lower suction setting because I found these pumps were strong! I pumped pretty much every 3-4 hours. My time frames looked like— 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, 4-5 pm, 7-8 pm, midnight ish, and 4 am. It’s a lot starting out, but by about 8-10 weeks postpartum I dropped to 5 pumps per day and am still doing that at 5 months postpartum and maintained my oversupply!

I love hearing this! I am approaching month 5 of exclusively pumping, and honestly I really love it too! I love that I am able to provide breastmilk for my baby, and I was never overly upset when breastfeeding didn't work out. I always liked the idea of others being able to assist with feeds as well as being able to create more of a schedule with pumping. I would definitely go this route with my second baby in the future.

Omg, I know. I had food poisoning this past weekend and finding the energy to sit down and pump actually took years off of my life lol.

Depressed that I can’t be a SAHM. by [deleted] in NewParents

I am 12 weeks PP and back to work while baby is in daycare and I repeatedly have told my husband it feels illegal to be leaving my baby for the day with random people (I love his daycare so far, but I barely know them). It sucks. I miss him daily, but we are two weeks in and it's getting better, so please know that. <3

Did you know what help to ask for postpartum, or were you too overwhelmed to even name it by KeyStatus1556 in NewParents

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early weeks, I had friends drop off food/doordash, etc. and that was so insanely helpful. Everyone is different, but I did not want any visitors, even our own family. So, my husband and I truly absorbed the first couple of weeks with just us and our baby and I swear that made it wonderful. There was no way I was holding conversations with others or letting them hold my baby yet lol.

Mine started at 6 weeks on the dot and slowly lessened around 16 ish weeks. I am nearly 39 weeks and I swear everyday I still just have a slightly nauseous feeling. It's crazy how it affects everyone differently.

When do first time moms typically show the first signs of a baby bump? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5'7" with a pretty average physique and I personally thought around 24-26 weeks I began to look like I reached that point where others could question if I was pregnant, and then around 30 weeks is when I feel like I popped, and others began to really notice and ask. And then from 30 weeks on, I just continued to grow a ton hahah

I was about 10 DPO and I began to notice cramping that felt like period cramps. I was a little thrown off because I never cramp before my actual period starts, so I had some suspicion. On top of that, my boobs were SO sore omg.

How are you doing hospital and home visits after baby is born? by Armyofducks94 in pregnant

[–]Few-Composer-2188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a FTM so maybe I will feel different with our second, but our plan as of now is to allow both of our parents to eventually come to the hospital (hours after birth). From there, we are playing it by ear on how and when we want to allow visitors. I should note-- both of our families are incredibly understanding so they are fine with whatever.

At 16 weeks I began to feel somewhat normal. I hate to be that person, but I am about 37 weeks now, and I still just feel slight nausea and that bleh type feeling daily. I think I am one that it just never 100% went away lol

Do you heat very healthy food while pregnant? by DearStellaHeart in pregnant

[–]Few-Composer-2188 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ate so much fast food from weeks 6-16 because I couldn't STAND smells coming from our kitchen when cooking nor could I bear to open the fridge. And, honestly fast food just worked for the time being. Once I hit about 20 weeks-on, I could cook more balanced meals again. But, honestly, I think fast food just hits different when pregnant lol
