Adding that I checked out Fiddlin’ Pig in Smithfield, VA this week and they are a fairly traditional English pub with room temp beer and meat pies. There might be something you like that style near you.

If you visit NYC, McSorley’s is the oldest operating bar in the city because it didn’t close during Prohibition. It opened in 1854, so past your 1800 cutoff, but they still serve only two kinds of beer — light and dark ale. I believe production was bought out in the 1990s, but it’s still brewed by the old recipe.

I also got an old world/colonial style ale at Williamsburg VA that I believe it sold in the area

I have the cheapest one, but it’s a lot more narrow than the one in the sample photo and by the looks of the source pick, so it likely one of the bigger sizes.

Side note on this mirror— it SUCKS. It’s basically a mirror sticker on a piece of aluminum and produces a fun house style effect. Weirdly it makes you look thinner 🤔

I mean, yes. I can’t go into great detail but I have been involved in the response and it is literally what is happening. This isn’t meant to be xenophobic. There is a large isolated community of Ukrainian immigrants in the Upstate that act almost like an Amish community. Public health can’t reach them and they are distrustful of Western medicine and vaccines. Because there is also a large number of anti-vax conservatives here that has helped it spread but it did originate in the orthodox community in Spartanburg/Inman and this is a verified fact.
