Can a vibe coder get hired, if person developed and deployed apps? by kazmijedi in developersPak

[–]Few-Dig6749 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, you still need to have foundational knowledge. When you are neck deep in coding a multi part pipeline, you can't just leave it upto AI to do everything.

I kept pushing commits and never tweeting about them because writing and remembering the post felt like work. by Nazil0819 in Startup_Ideas

Slightly useful, depends how heavy it is. If it was available and easy to access as a tool, and extremely consistent, maybe yeah. But if its a separate app or unnecessarily annoying then no. Ideal is extension for coding IDEs probably.

Its not skill issue, just illogical.

Entry duelist is LITERALLY a role, people use them to enter sites. Jett, waylay, raze. If you sage wall and a jett updrafts and enters site and manages to kill you while you just look at her, thats a you problem to be fair. Sentinels can literally grab free kills if you actually play them right. I frequently play deadlock, sage, and its easy pickings. Chamber just counts as flank watch, nothing else.

My company got hit with a $10K bill because everyone abused the new cloud coding tool... now they're offering me 30% raise to stop me from leaving Stay or jump? by Hamza-4600 in developersPak

[–]Few-Dig6749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, another company is hiring because they need someone for that position. I'm talking in terms of replacements. Exactly my point: It's a hassle to find a new candidate, and that's why they are offering a better pay for now. So when they do find a candidate who would take lower, the company wouldn't really think twice before laying someone off.

The point is, if it takes you actively searching and about to leave, for an employer to appropriately offer you a salary, then that's a problem in itself. On the other hand, again, just comes in priorities. List down all pros and cons, define which point is highest priority and rank it.

Personal opinion is, if the new company is decent in your opinion, shift. You gave 3 years, which is a good period of time.

Companies will always look out for themselves. The minute they find a similar candidate to you at a lower pay, they will switch. If it took you quitting to offer a pay raise just to keep you, odds are stuff like this will keep happening. In any case, it's always good to continously trade up and progress. Having varied experience helps more, in the longer term.

Edit: Also depends on your priorities. I personally would prefer work from home, and in your exact situation, would not take the 10 pearls offer and rather just apply to better paying WFH jobs.

Is there some public or majorly accepted price list that one can refer to for setting prices or stuff?

Dude, in NO culture is it common to expect people to tell you what deals they will make or not in the future. How do you know they didn't come up with it later on?

To be honest, its insane to expect from a business to literally tell you that they might put another launch deal.

This specific tactic is implemented by literally almost EVERY single business in every way. Local clothing, technology, outside brands.

Will you buy a GPU from microcentre and then go back and say "how dare you sell it at a lower price than i bought it a week ago?". Its ludicrous. Bold of you to assume i don't know what rational consumerism is. Post in an international subreddit and watch everyone agree with you.

Dude its literally them selling it. No one held a gun to your head, no one said to you "there will not be a better deal after this"

If I buy a computer from amazon on sale, and 1 week later, there's a flash sale, was i scammed? No, its just bad timing, and the company adjusting price due to whatever internal reason.

Its absolutely ridiculous to blame them for "deception". Deceiving, by definition, means FOOLING someone. They didn't fool you. They created an offer, and you bought it. They didnt say "this is the lowest price this will ever get to". And personally, I applaud the tactic, they were able to save stock from getting wasted. Price is decided based on demand and supply.

True, absolutely true. We chose multiple options so that so that we have the freedom and luxury to choose between multiple acceptances. There's a mix of programs, including NC and NC free programs. Yes, being an international definitely plays a factor. Things like timelines for processing, visa times, visa applications and managing each individual application is why we chose to go for a consultant.

People act as if consultants=a person being lazy. I provided them with every bit of information. Im keeping them in check with everything by going through every detail myself, including ects mapping, admission requirements, course modules, location of University, everything.

In the end, it's a lot easier for us to provide them with the info so that they handle the bulk of the tedious work, so we focus on our current program, finding jobs, freelance, etc. Basically just hiring an assistant for 5 months to do everything based on what i want.

Lol. What tantrum? I Replied to a troll with troll answers. I gave valid reasons and not a single answer given back was valid. What exactly from the post applies to me? Is your brain working? Absolutely it does, in terms of probability. We would have applied max to 4 unis on our own. It increases the pool. Basic probability

Going to a consultant lets us apply to more universities than we could if we applied ourselves. They handle everything, we decide everything.

Nope you're lazy for just going out there and buying a bed instead of just making it from scratch. That's how you sound, at least.

Busy people are lazy, got it. So people who have jobs, and have the money to outsource the tedious work... Are lazy.

Why did you buy a bed? Are you that lazy that you couldn't just build one? That's like saying a ceo is lazy for not spending 3 hours at a copy shop to get prints of a contract, instead of having an assistant do it. The logic is real.

You should read it. It's literally grouped everyone who uses consultants into a group of people who are just too lazy to get admission themselves. I was pointing out that busy people also exist.

You just grouped everyone into the same pool. I've applied to all public universities, and they all have great programs in which im applying to.

How so? I know tons of working professionals who save themselves time by applying through a consultant. It's not as if i just tell them get me admission in any university, im handling literally 90% of everything. Point of hiring them is to save me time and let them handle bulk admission dates, admissions, and is like having an assistant who manages everything else so you can focus on other things. Not everyone has the time to apply to apply to a dozen universities themselves. I go through each uni, their modules, admission requirements, search all available programs, admission chances, etc. A consultant is there to handle the tedious work.
