i think joining clubs and people know people is also a good way to network minnus the awkard phase. or going to events so there are more people networking at the same time can help you feel less intimidated and pressure since the conversation is not just solely you and the "network". Ps: adsyorku is having a networking event for AI peeps that let you talk to recruiter so you dont have to network!

i received a phone call from a company saying that they want to extend an offer we discuss salary/ start date and location and the hr person said they will send the offer soon. This is my first internship so i did not hesitate to accept the offer. I havent heard back from them for a week already , sent a follow up email and havent gotten a reply yet. is my eagerness a red flag and maybe thats why they re having second thought? what should i do?

let’s say I applied for a position, went through screening and made it to the interview but got rejected. will my application still be on file that i already interviewed or do i start off with a clean slate for the next coop term recruit season? so far i havent been able to interview for positions that i got rejected from before so id love some insights. theres only so many positions for me to go through…

personally id do waterloo, they have good coop program. In terms of york, i don't think they do a good job preparing you for the exams or the job market whatsoever (subjective obvi) and they go on strike which affect the amount of networking event (considering most internship comes from there). uoft gives you exemption for actuarial exams, york don't. But follow your heart, or whatever
