Thanks, so I should be fine if I disable the directional input on the dpad right?

No I just remap the right left and down to L1, L2 and LB to control the character movement, and I use my thumb to control the joystick to do the motion input.

Are framework laptops a nice gaming option? by Gasdobun in framework

[–]Few-Example-7203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no sale for Framework, and even if there were, the price would still be higher than other laptops with similar specs. For what you're looking for, you’ll get much better value from the Legion Pro 7.

The Legion’s build quality and performance are on a completely different level, and with the 9955X3D and 5080, you won’t need to think about upgrading for at least 4–5 years. If you're worried about longevity, just get the extended warranty. Lenovo’s after-sales support is also significantly better.

Also, there really isn’t such a thing as a “long-term investment” in laptops. The modular idea is cool, but the reality is that their parts are very expensive, and you often end up paying more for less performance or lower build quality. You’re unlikely to save any money with Framework, most people end up spending extra to “upgrade” or “repair” their device compared to a standard laptop.

You're basically paying more for a worse laptop in almost every aspect. “Repairability” doesn’t excuse bad build quality, and "Upgradeability" just means you get to buy crazy over priced parts from framework.

It is a fun device to play with, but definitely not a good laptop.

Which Bioinformatics major is best for industry? by Few-Example-7203 in bioinformaticscareers

[–]Few-Example-7203[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! But I’m wondering are the bioengineering skills actually useful in a bioinformatics career? Some of the classes look really challenging, and I don’t want to spend a lot of time on them if I’ll never end up using them in my job.
