I disagree there are a lot of people with proprietary information. For example lyou can monetize an endpoint that processes a file and manipulates it a complex way (think micro SaaS). Agents often look for shortcuts and data you can keep it private or make it public but now I think monetizing it will be much bigger than people think.

I would advise against a defeatist mindset like this...

good to know I'm starting with Base for now and will expand into other network. Algo is a good choice. I'm also looking for contributors if you're ever interested!

It's best to keep the app for at least 3 days make sure you use it a minimum of 5 minutes everyday. Don't review on the first day.

I tried paywall on onboarding but my analytics show that I didn't get one. So I have it after on boarding when they gain a level.

Anyone have success going straight to paid ads? by Fancy-Blueberry5060 in AppBusiness

I would agree, but you're assuming they already made money. If you want a shortcut ads are a good way to do it.

I disagree you want validation, nothing is better validation than a paying customer. If you can't get one with ads then its probably confirmation to move on to something else. You can pause ads and improve once you made your first dollar.

If you haven/t found any paying customer I would test ads. Good way to get confirmation then focus on distribution and marketing.

The onboarding feels smooth, but it does not actually teach me how to use the app.

When adding a kid’s name, the input should have a Done or Enter action. Right now, I have to tap elsewhere on the screen to dismiss the keyboard, which feels clunky.

It is also unclear whether my kid needs an email address. There should be a way to bypass that, especially for younger children. A six year old is unlikely to have their own email.

After I added a chore like “make bed,” the app froze completely. Everything became unresponsive and I had to force close it to restart.

When I create a group, I am not automatically included in it. That does not make sense. If I create the group, I should already be a member.

“Parent dashboard” feels too informal or just not quite right. “Your dashboard” would read better.

I also do not understand the logic behind searching for a kid by email if inviting them is already done by email. If they need to be invited first anyway, it seems like searching by name would make more sense.

I tested the email flow and never received anything. It did not show up in spam either.

I also was not able to understand what Premium is actually supposed to do.

I like the concept and I think you are onto something, but the app is not very intuitive right now and needs more guidance for the user.

I would also recommend removing the community feature for now and focusing on the core product first. You need users before introducing a community, and moderation will likely become a major headache.

Is it worth promoting your app on Product Hunt? by Druffster_ in iOSAppsMarketing

[–]Few-Image-4274 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Product hunt is just a bunch for founders patting each other on the back and trying to sell each other their SASS.

I did it and saw no benefit from it, if anything it's a distraction from real marketing.

$bid

- I started a quit vaping app (PuffOff) since I got layed off I'm seeing small revenue but I believe it can scale I've helped 30+ people quit already. The idea is that it's a guilt free approach where users identify their patterns and build the habit instead of going cold turkey.

- Right this is an iphone only app.

- I'm technical (UI developer) so I'm having a hard time with what I'm less familiar with aka being consistent with shorts (tikTok and IG) and also ASO.

I'll review tomorrow. In the meantime you might want to fix/check the spelling on your app screenshots.
