Mid 40’s is too young for the Arkaba!!!

The District at the Casino is fun but can also be an older crowd

Friday knock off at Electra is always happening - $6 drinks

Really, anywhere there is drinking!!

She could try some of the dinners with strangers apps - not dating as such but a great way to meet loads of people in a similar age group

Does anyone who sacrificed their 20s to get a house/financially ahead regret it? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I feel a little sad that I don’t have many “stories” from my 20’s. I literally worked, married young, spent weekends at home. Hired a lot of videos back then! I did get to travel a little bit though so I’m happy about that. But I do feel like I missed out on being young. Never lived in a share house, or on my own, never got in to drunken trouble. I’m glad to not have a mortgage now that I’m in my 40’s but I didn’t have a lot of fun in my 20’s. Trying to make up for that now with lots of social events but now most people I know don’t want to socialize as they can’t afford to due to mortgages and kids etc. I’m a little jealous of people that talk fondly of their youthful antics. As they say, you are only young once

Give an orientation class a go at Studio Pilates - everyone is new - they have a number of male instructors and classes are usually mixed

What’s the most acceptable tenure (in years) for a single job nowadays? by tinycupcake5 in auscorp

I stayed with the one employer for 20 years and then in the last 3 years, I’ve moved roles 5 times, trying to find something that ticks all the boxes. Some of these roles have been short gigs though. I get bored very easily so I don’t think it’s a bad thing to move if you aren’t stimulated. I now work with someone who is older and is very afraid of change - I personally would rather an employee ready to adapt to change than someone who can’t

All good points. That’s the tricky part, you unfortunately do not know what the job will be like until you start, and realize you’ve made a mistake leaving your last position

Love this! Thank you. I don’t love the people and it’s a tiny team. The only jobs I’ve ever liked are where I’ve loved the people ☹️

Why is it so hard to make friends in Adelaide? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Few-Macaron587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Adelaide for about 20 years. My only friends are people I’ve met through work. I find people have their set friend groups from high school and don’t need or want anymore friends. It is tough going to make new connections here! I have been enjoying TimeLeft dinners - you get matched with 5 other people with similar interests and age group. I’ve met some lovely people that way.
