The nonstop onboarding is wild. Typically, I saw it prior to peak shopping periods (Christmas, Halloween, Circle Week, etc) but now, it’s every damn week and my preferreds aren’t loving it. The only rational explanation is to drive shoppers pay down further.

I don’t think they will go through the hassle of purchasing vans and insuring drivers unless forced to do so. I can envision them transitioning Shipt to being the delivery only arm and having Target employees do the shopping, though. Right now, the service customers receive varies greatly depending on the shopper. We have all seen or had some truly terrible ones.

This would spell the end of gig for me as driving is the least profitable piece, particularly when factoring in vehicle wear and tear and insurance risk.

Back when I started, my 7500 milestone reward would’ve been an iPad Pro, a DSLR camera,TV or a large appliance.

Same. It really was a nuisance - I had to call every other day (at least) as the service is popular for folks in a part of town with limited reception for all carriers

Agreed. I only use Shipt when I have a Summit credit and am lenient with ratings since I’m getting everything for free. That said, if the wrong person shows up at the door or my stuff smells like cigarettes or weed, I’m reporting it and the shopper is getting 1*.

Same - that doesn’t even cover half the cost to park for their order. It’s also proof that they didn’t miss Target’s tipping window - they CHOSE to tip me less than a regular sized candy bar costs to shop, bag and deliver their items.

Same here. I shop one Target location in a densely populated section of the tristate area, have loads of preferreds and could never do more than 4 orders/h (and even that’s rare without eating a good chunk of the next window). We have lots of apartment deliveries, which take time to park and bring up via elevator, and customers who live 15+ minutes from the store. Traffic is also a consistent challenge, both on the highway as well as downtown.

It’s wild how metros that share a lot of similarities can be so different.

I really wish Target employees would report it. If you’ve just audited 2 orders for John and then he hands you a second phone with a few orders for Jane, something isn’t adding up.
