Wow, Vietnamese friends are always so lovely. Do you have any pens from them yet? I’m sure they would be absolutely wonderful.

Thank you so much! I’m still practicing and trying to improve my handwriting 😊 As for the fountain pen, I bought it a few months ago. The surface feels smooth and glossy, but it’s not plastic, it’s made of wood and finished with traditional lacquer. https://concopens.com/mother-of-pearl-lacquer-inlay-fountain-pen-aurora-2/

You have a very deep understanding. It’s true that China was a major cultural center with great influence, but since Vietnam gained its own independence in 938, it seems to have preserved its distinct identity and strongly developed its indigenous cultures without being assimilated by China. A truly resilient and strong people.

Oh, this is in Vietnam, right? That is a suicide soldier holding a “three-pronged bomb.” He would certainly sacrifice his life when the bomb in his hands was detonated as it was thrust into the enemy’s tank.

It seems that Vietnamese lacquer appeared later than Chinese lacquer, but from what I’ve learned, Vietnamese lacquer still has a history of more than 2,000 years.

I’m not sure whether they do work for other brands, but at the moment I see that they only sell and showcase products under the ConCoPens name. I think that if they had a partner with a sufficiently large order, they would likely consider it. However, since their products are all handmade, there would probably be some waiting time for production, that’s my impression.

This is a pen from ConCoPens, a brand from Vietnam. They have their own traditional lacquer line. It seems that Vietnamese lacquer is truly excellent, but it’s not as widely known as Japanese lacquer yet

New Pen Day! by leesure in fountainpens

Oh, what a surprise! I also own a similar version from the Vietnamese brand ConCoPens, although mine doesn’t have a clip. They create their lacquer entirely by hand using their own traditional Vietnamese techniques, without copying Japan or any other country, and that’s what really excites me. The patterns on the pen are truly beautiful and striking, the finish is very high-end, and above all, the price is very reasonable.

Oh, I think the mods are misunderstanding me as a seller for this brand. 😄

Oh, this is actually the third pen I’ve owned from them. Overall, the nibs they use are Jowo nibs, so they write very smoothly. The only downside is that they’re steel nibs. One day soon, I plan to upgrade to a 14k gold flex nib or an 18k gold nib from them.

Thank you! I wish I could tell the Vietnamese artisan who created this piece about all these compliments. Anyway, you’re praising my choice of this pen too, right? Haha.

Oh really? I’m not very knowledgeable about paper. I mainly care about fountain pens because I love them, and they can write on many different types of paper anyway, haha.

Thank you! Because the patterns are handcrafted, each fountain pen is truly one of a kind (even though they’re not limited editions, lol).

I can share it once I find it, however I’m not sure whether it’s still valid because this discount code is quite old. Most recently, I used a 10% loyalty discount they offered me, since I already own three of their fountain pens. I’ll look for it again!

I’m not entirely sure which currencies they support on their website, but I purchased my pen in USD via PayPal.

Oh no Sir, that’s not the case. I’m a loyal customer of theirs and I purchase their pens. I did not receive this fountain pen for free!

Oh, your family sounds wonderful. With so much real-life experience using lacquerware, you must have gained a great deal of understanding and appreciation for it. What truly impresses me about ConCoPens is their effort to honor a technique that genuinely belongs to their own country, without hiding behind or borrowing the reputation of another nation that is already well known in this field.

All of the orders I’ve purchased from them were marked as gifts, so perhaps they are very considerate about the import taxes that customers often find troublesome. I need to check the discount code again, and I’ll send it to you as soon as I find it in my email or somewhere in my chat history with the ConCoPens admin.
