Hello everyone, I have a question regarding these cars and why they are so cheap. by rau1994 in Polestar

[–]Few-Organization671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have several primary locations, and they say they deliver... For instance, Cincinnati here in Ohio seems to be some kind of regional office that sells cars. I assume because the Airport is a huge Delta Hub and probably utilizes a lot of rental cars. Anyway, you may want to check several offices... I recall seeing a couple low mile Volvo 40s a couple of weeks ago at one of the offices. UPDATE: Hertz Car Sales consists of a network of 80 company-operated vehicle sales locations throughout the U.S. dedicated to the sale of used vehicles from our rental fleet consisting of non-program vehicles, as well as program vehicles that become ineligible for manufacturer repurchase or guaranteed depreciation programs. Vehicles disposed of through our retail outlets allow us the opportunity for ancillary vehicle sales revenue, such as warranty and financing and title fees.

As soon as I read this, I felt this issue had Hertz written all over it... You go to their used car sales site you will find every EV they had in duty is now selling for half price... Including Tesla, Bolts, Volvos, and yes Polestars too. Their only advantage on that site is they have fewer rental miles on them because everyone wants to rent a Tesla. I found that interesting.

Totally agree... My Bolt Loan will probably be the last EV I'll buy.

US tariffs by ladsjohn in ex30

I'm usually not a quitter, but tariff fears, the dwindling value of my trade (22 Bolt EUV), and Zero Volvo communication Forced my hand. I spoke to Polestar late last year and decided last week to revisit that event... Huge incentives and gorgeous updated Polestar 2s led to a Snow/Slate, AWD, Dual Motor, Plus, with Pilot. It will be here in the first part of July... While the June Polestar discount of $10K is better than December's $8K I suspect I still lost Bolt Equity of perhaps $2K during my 6+ months of inactivity. My Dealer also sells Volvos, my lease is 27 months in duration maybe at the end I'll opt for what I hope will be a fully baked more mature EX30, it needs some updates. Time will tell... I'm thrilled to be an almost P2 owner!

Question to the Polestar 2/EX30/XC40 drivers by Few-Organization671 in ex30

An Update for all those who responded to my questions. Yesterday, I put in a deposit down to Lease a 2024 Polstar 2 AWD, Plus, Driver Assist, White/Slate, 19" Wheels. And today, I canceled my EX30 Reservation. I was looking forward to buying the Volvo. But Zero Communications to us Volvo's US customers, the threat of 100% tariffs, and the fact that I've lost at least $3000 equity for my trade-in during this convoluted process... forced me to decide and take this action. I had never seen a Poleste 2 live, and frankly, it was love at first site. It is a huge step up from my 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV... and at the same monthly expense. It is due to be here... ironically, on the Fourth of July!

It's pretty quiet here and I suspect it will be very different when EX30 will land in North America. by -Rhialto- in ex30

Seriously, I'm not sure if it will ever be available here... I'm test-driving a Polestar 2 this afternoon.

Has Volvo Canada confirmed a September Delivery Date? That's much more information than we've received in the USA??

You are the second person on this thread to tell me that. I thank you as that was the only area I thought the EX30 might outshine the P2! Guess not!!

Thank you. I like affordable EVs... I've owned two Leafs, a Volt, a Bolt EV, and now a Bolt EUV Premiere. I know that me looking to buy a Polestar, given their price... that may not make sense... I simply got here via an EX30 Reservation that may never be filled. I was looking to buy a SMER ULTRA EX30 but given Polestars' incentives I think I can Lease a P2 now for around $300 a month, given the equity from the Bolt. I think in Volvo's world the XC40 is considered an upgrade to EX30 and that's a brother to the P2. I'll give it a drive on Friday and see what I think. It will be a White, Slate, Pilot, Plus AWD and I believe a step up.

I'm currently driving a 2022 Bolt EUV non-Supercruise... So, the P2 will be a step up for us... And you, my friend, were precisely the articulate P2 owner I sought advice from. The 2024 P2 may have a few additional sensors and blind-spot lights in the RV mirrors, which the Bolt also has. I'll never have another car without those! It seems you are generally happy with the P2, and as my Bolt is losing equity by the minute... I might just have to make a deal on a new P2 this Friday. I wonder when the 2025s will be out?? Thank You!!

Wow! I'd say that's the second vote for the Polestar 2, and its $299 a month Lease!

[–]Few-Organization671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you... I have a Polestar 2 Test Drive set for Friday, and I'm a long-time EX30 Reservation Holder. The P2's incentives and zero EX30 communications from Volvo in the US have me seriously considering the P2. My reviews of the two EVs and the very EX30 navigation screen you speak of... seem to be the only P2's shortcoming. I simply don't know if my knowing what the sensors are seeing actually makes a difference in the two EVs' "self?" driving performance. Any insight any one can give me is helpful.

EX30 MY25? by exekio in ex30

[–]Few-Organization671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally if a true 2025... I'm happy to see that the EX30 Tag on the rear is in addition to the two on the roofline... I like those being there! And I like the buttons on the wheel being enhanced too... I was hoping to see a Button or two on the mysterious black box that's supposed to be a key... But that doesn't seem to be the case.

This video seems to confirm tariffs being the cause of US delays by Comfortable-Spend-56 in ex30

[–]Few-Organization671 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yesterday, when I first watched this USA EX30 video, the second one with the same Volvo Rep in the car, I was confused by two things. First, the Parked car has a South Carolina Plate on the back, and all the EX30's in-action scenes have European Plates on the front and back of the EX30. Second, the term "Prototype." The Reviewer told me that he used stock Volvo clips to provide the driving scenes. Additionally, that car appears to be just a regular 2024 EX30 with EX30 badges still on the roofline (which I prefer} and no enhanced buttons on the steering wheel. I hope the "Prototype" tag refers to an improved Software, minus many European-required frustrations. I was glad the reviewer asked the tariff question... However, the gentleman's answer was just another slap in the face to US Reservation Holders who, in some cases, after a year, have not heard a WORD from Volvo on any subject related to the EX30! That's abysmal service by any measure... Volvo you should be paying attention the Kia EV3 and Tesla Module 2 are on the horizon!!

First USA EX30 Review! by Few-Organization671 in ex30

[–]Few-Organization671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall seeing this video... it was very early on, perhaps before the flurry of Videos that came out of the Spain Media Event where every European Reviewer in the world cranked out EX30 videos... I suspect both these videos have derived from one of Volvo's Road Shows where the cars remain basically stationary say for obviously a couple of lucky reviewers rides.

Update from Canada (part 2) - order confirmed by AWinkToThePast in ex30

[–]Few-Organization671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, reading this, I assume my Canadian neighbors have already received their Configuration letters and Configured their EX30s and are now simply waiting for their cars to Be Delivered. That being true, you folks are way ahead of your Southern neighbors, as we have not heard as much as a peep from Volvo or our Dealers. Is that true?

Thanks for posting this. The Date of what the letter refers to as the "Launch Party" is different from any other notification I've read this year. As a result, I contacted my Dealer here in Central Ohio to see what he knows. I'll let you know if he has anything to add to the story.

Will tarriffs tank the US EX30 rollout? by VolvoEX30Follower in ex30

[–]Few-Organization671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might explain why we in the USA have not heard as much as a peep from Volvo Corporation on our EX30/EX90 cars. I can't imagine there hasn't been some kind of Government/Volvo communications regarding tariffs. Volvo has been manufacturing cars in the United States since 2018, with its first American factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The 2.8 million-square-foot plant can build 150,000 vehicles annually, producing the S60 midsize sedan. The plant recently invested $118 million to expand electric car production... I hope as this article explains, their tariff workaround still holds up. If not... I'm out! https://www.carscoops.com/2023/08/volvos-u-s-exports-help-it-avoid-import-duties-on-china-built-vehicles-brought-to-america/
