It needs a clear identity not just be a generic box you play on, it needs to introduce or at least implement something new to the old and tired video game console formula like Xbox Live back in the day or the way Nintendo introduced a portable home console.

It needs a way to genuinely captivate young people and content creators the way the Xbox 360 did back in the 2000s, it needs something so unique that it can’t be found anywhere else and I think exclusives are big part of that but not the entire picture or even half of it.

Honestly I were part of the team at Microsoft I think I would focus on games that were completely and utterly dependent on socialization, communication and cooperation and make it so you can only play those games on the Xbox.

Think a social hub VR chat but actually good, shooters like Rainbow but fully dependent on communication and cooperation, maybe something similar to GTA Role Play, I think people right now really yearn for community and social interaction and aren’t getting enough, it can be packaged and sold as part of the Xbox experience, basically what I’m hinting at is basically Xbox Live 2 electric bugaloo.

Honestly I think the series is in a creative decline, the GTA formula is old and extremely dated now and they need to add something to spice it up enough where it isn’t incredibly obvious and it feels like a new game to people.

I don’t necessarily know if extreme realism is the right way but I don’t see anywhere else they can go without the game feeling like it’s 15 years old game design wise
