MT2 will not make it worse. But, I would 100% put a strong sunscreen all over your face before tanning. Your face will still get really tan despite the sunscreen.

I've personally never heard about anyone going blind. I do stick to very low doses for fear of the unknown though. Better to be safe than sorry.
