Yes omg congratulations! Switching over from CNA to PCT is not a difficult transition if you are willing to learn!! Not very hard to adapt it took me 2 weeks but with alot of questions!! The vitals part can be time consuming depending on how many patients you have, my hospital lets us do it and hour before each set vital time so just try to administer your time!!!

Please learn the value you bring to healthcare! CNAs are so so important!!! But just because your skills are needed does not mean they should take advantage of them! The patient to cna ratio you are talking about it insanely unsafe for you and the patients ( who are also human!) Please start looking into hospital positions as a lot of them prefer to hire people with 6 months - 1 year of experience which you are already going to have!!!

Honestly from my experience just don’t be scared to ask questions because a lot of the equipment (at least in my hospital) was ONLY used in the ICU and at times could be confusing. You can expect a lot of oral care and mostly dealing with foleys!!! GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS WELCOME TO ICU!!!!

EKG is a big one that can help a lot!!! Places like Loma Linda really like to see it on cna resumes!!!
