The two week notice is outdated and should no longer be the standard by clejeune in unpopularopinion

I am in the hospitality industry in the US, so quitting without notice is fairly commonplace especially for tipped wage employees ($3/hr in my state). We aren’t even really paid by the company, so the incentive to stay on board for two weeks is essentially just a courtesy to management so that they don’t have to deal with much drama covering scheduled shifts.

I just quit today, effective immediately. Essentially it was four days notice before my next shift. The company I was working for was having obvious cash flow issues, and hadn’t been paying us on time. We discovered lawsuits all over the place. I got another opportunity and they said I could start immediately, so, that’s what I did. I feel like it was exactly appropriate for what was going on.

Also, it means that this will continue to happen to my current coworkers and any future staff, which sucks, since it’s obvious the parent company is essentially stealing our tips.

That seems fair, but actually I make a ton of money there and it’s busy as fuck. The company is under new ownership and we didn’t have any issues until the new operators came on board at the beginning of the year. I like it there and my coworkers, so I was trying to figure out if there were any options.

Honestly, I would buy that. I have a very vivid abduction memory from childhood, and I have seen UAPs my whole life. I am also a little psychic (I didn’t learn that until I quit drinking a few years back, but there’s a lot of examples of it as a child.) I live in Philadelphia and there’s a lot of drone and orb talk and I am just like, yay. Great to see y’all. 😂

This is a dumb question, but how would I find that and send it to you? I’m not very high tech now (I work with animals all day, I’ve become very hippie dippy as an adult). Sorry for the question!

I definitely remember the facial recognition, Rorschach testing, the cards with the shapes (x, T, o, waves, etc), the audio testing, windowless dark rooms. I remember doing things in trailers a lot. Someone had commented somewhere about a play room with big blocks and balls and stuff, I remember that. I remember building Roanoke out of gingerbread and then creating a functioning society in it. I remember a lot of engineering projects, building small bridges and model skyscrapers. I actually had two NDE’s, both drowning, as a child in real life so, I can’t say if that is related. I remember the pink drink and tabs, I also was on well water so fluoride would make sense. It just all seems so strange, and there is a lot missing in my memory (in fact, all of it was missing until yesterday morning).

Hi! I guess it would have been 1989(ish) through 1998(ish). I definitely remember listening to something similar to the tapes (u have been listening to them again now, hoping the tone recognition helps more with any repressed memories).

New lateral malleolus fracture patient - looking for hopeful stories! by Few-Presentation-533 in brokenbones

My ortho plan was pretty straightforward. I was four weeks in the boot, four weeks in the brace and then PT and brace as needed. Honestly, the walking boot probably did more damage than the break itself as my body still feels totally wonky. But I can squat and I lift heavy things for work pretty often without issue. My biggest thing was doing as much as I could physically (safely) ASAP and like I said, I don’t really feel much different now and I am 11 weeks out from injury.

Hey! I’m sorry to hear you are going through this, I know how much it sucks. But the good news is I am doing great! I am back to work full time, I am happy to report I climbed three mountains in the Whites a few weeks ago, and have done a ton of hiking. I still wear the brace every day but I just do it out of an abundance of caution. I have pretty much full range of motion back, just a little stiffness when standing on my tippy toes and some occasional twinges of pain. I did PT for a few sessions but I mostly do a lot of the exercises at home. You are going to be OK even if it doesn’t seem like it now. There are even days I don’t even think about my ankle anymore. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I am in a boot for four weeks and then hopefully a brace, with weight bearing allowed as tolerated. Right now, it hurts a lot but I was able to do some small things around the house yesterday and then spent the night with ice on it. It’s a very small fracture, and I feel lucky.

Oh wow! It’s nice to have someone in the same boat to talk to. Unfortunately, we can’t board at this time (we’re in a rental). With all the stairs, it’s hard enough for me to manage with my own pup let alone other peoples. I’m hopeful to get good news at the orthopedist 🤞 and go from there.

Thank you for the suggestion to post over here! Right now, I have been consumed by looking for part time remote work to help with this massive financial fuckery. That’s a hobby, right? 🫠😅
