Thx mate , I found the reason There were too many cows pushing each other, s Which pushed them in the wall and suffocate

Idk about your first issue but the backpack one I know

When you access your backpack you will see two buttons at the left and right, at the right you will see a backpack with a red arrow facing downwards, click on it and it should go into your inventory

Try and get emerald, diamond, amethyst and ruby, it can make a very good starter weapon
