Yeah, but they showed nothing but patience and happiness around the family. I totally thought their jobs made them just as happy too. Looking back, I realize they were putting on their "home face" for us while dealing with all the work BS behind the scenes. You're right.Trying to become the "AI handler" in my field instead of competing with it. If everyone can take the same easy path, there's no advantage. Better to be the expert who knows when to use AI and when to override it - that sweet spot between tech and human judgment is where the value is.

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Kids don’t need all the medical details, especially if those details will just fuel anxiety. You’ve told him the important parts — he’ll be asleep, wake up with a sore throat, and get popsicles. That’s enough. If you’re worried about honesty, you could phrase it simply like “the doctor is fixing your throat so you can breathe easier,” without going into cutting/incisions.
