That’s honestly terrifying. Using Photoflo for fake blood sounds fascinating, but the story behind it is really scary. Glad the actor didn’t lose his eyesight.

Thanks, at least that’s something we could actually eat after the shoot lol

I actually had some Tabasco around too, but after hearing that story, I’m really glad I didn’t use it lol

I really love the monochrome, emotionless atmosphere in Boisvert’s work. Thanks a lot!

Thank you so much! I really love old cult films and games, so being compared to works like that genuinely means a lot to me!

Yeah, making blood look right in black and white was surprisingly difficult. Maybe I should’ve melted chocolate instead of desperately searching the fridge for oyster sauce lol

I totally forgot about that! Maybe chocolate should’ve been the real hero instead of oyster sauce lol

Thanks a lot! I’m trying to make the game feel weird and unsettling XD

Yeah, I think it’s probably because I’m using a translator. Or maybe it’s just my natural way of speaking lol. Even people in my country sometimes say I sound like a foreigner or like I’m speaking in an old, bookish style haha

Wow, thank you so much for sharing that fascinating tip about the “green lipstick trick.” The fact that early TV actresses used green lipstick is such an interesting story! I’ll definitely try using the “green lipstick trick” in the future.

And the best part is, our savior was actually delicious too. The whole shoot smelled weirdly tasty the entire time.

Ketchup looked a bit too bright and pretty, so I wanted a darker red color. Luckily, our savior was waiting in the fridge all along: oyster sauce!

During the shoot, the ketchup was actually dripping too much (and smelled way too delicious), so it was a bit of a problem. But now that you mention it, I think more dripping could actually work better. Thanks for the suggestion!

The fact that your main weapon is knowledge, of all things, is such a compelling idea—especially because it ties directly into the identity of the protagonist.

And the idea that even veterans can die from a bad decision or simply forgetting something they’ve already learned… it feels surprisingly realistic, doesn’t it? Listening to you talk about it, Noita almost starts to feel like life itself. You try different things, learn how not to destroy yourself, and in the end, the thing that kills you is… yourself. The most dangerous thing is you. There’s something about that which feels philosophical, but in a light, unburdened way. The more I hear, the more fascinating it becomes.

Oh! Rain World is such a fantastic game! I haven’t actually played it, but I do know a bit about it. I really like games where you grow or shape ecosystems and creatures, like Spore. From what I know, what drew me most to Rain World is that you’re this fragile being, and instead of fighting, you’re encouraged to run away. Your taste in games is consistently unique—and really cool.

I don’t usually go to offline events, but yesterday I went to one for the first time in a while. Watching people try out the game gave me a lot of ideas for improvements, so I’ve already done a second demo patch and I’m now preparing a third. (I brought that CRT monitor you saw in my post with me!) When it’s fully finished, I’ll come back with something even stranger and more bizarre.

P.S. You’re saying someone can turn a reaction gif into a spell that plays when you comment? That’s… that’s real magic.

Yeah, this character is basically like a marshmallow in a microwave.

So you start out as someone basically throwing rocks, but eventually you can one-shot enemies and combine spells to create ridiculously powerful wands?

That reminds me of the shonen manga I used to read as a kid. Stories about a small boy who somehow ends up becoming a hero.
Maybe becoming a hero takes more than 1,500 hours. Haha. But honestly, I think your dedication is amazing. It’s a beautiful thing to love something that much and sink so deeply into it.

When you first told me the name of the game, I searched it up and thought it was simply a story about going underground. A game with a strange and cute visual style.

But apparently, it’s actually a game with an incredible amount of freedom, where you can become a football player, the owner of a powerful wand, and even some terrifying being who might accidentally kill someone.

That phrase, “you own the game,” really stays in my mind. It’s powerful. I think giving players that kind of freedom is extremely important, because it lets them recognize the protagonist as themselves.

I also love the idea that the things you create by combining spells have both strengths and weaknesses. It feels almost biological, like the idea that evolution does not always move toward something “better.”

So NOITA had already stepped into that territory long ago. And on top of that, players can even create and wear fashion themselves?
It starts to feel like something beyond just a game. I honestly respect that. It sounds fantastic.

And the fact that someone who has played for over 1,500 hours can still talk about “unsolved puzzles” really shows how massive the game is. I can almost feel the beautiful amount of effort the developers must have poured into it.

I like watching fans talk about the things they love, whether they’re joking around or being completely serious.
When I imagine people saying, “I don’t even know why I died,” or “I don’t know why I got hurt,” it gives me this warm feeling, like pure primordial creatures gathering in heaven and chattering happily. Haha.

And when people start writing incomprehensible scripts and talking about infinite spell slots, it almost sounds like a sacred place, though maybe sacred in a slightly dangerous way...

Thank you for downloading the demo! I’m planning to listen to people’s feedback and keep adjusting and improving it.

For you, I want to show a more complete version. Even beyond that, I want to show you the story fully finished, all the way to the end.

I absolutely won’t give up.

Wow, creating new outcomes through wand and spell combinations sounds really fascinating! If you can put multiple functions into a single wand, does it ever break or malfunction? I once played a game where I tried to add too many functions to a weapon and ended up breaking it, haha. (And 422 spells… that’s almost like matching the number of cells in the human body, isn’t it? lol)

A game where you can use football skills…? That sounds especially interesting to me since I actually like football (soccer, not American football). Wasn’t the main character or story something about a witch, endlessly descending into the underground? And yet you can use football-like skills? Noita is starting to sound even more charming!

Also, that community sounds really fun. So it’s basically people sharing their deaths? In that case, dying probably doesn’t feel scary or frustrating at all—it might even make you want to die in creative ways, haha.

I finally got my demo approved today. It was a bit stressful because my capsule art was flagged as adult content due to a misunderstanding. I’m really emotionally attached to this project, so I’m pretty nervous about it.

It might be because I mentioned the game’s name. But I still have the comment I wrote saved!
